"Gou."
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
Gou blushed and quickly diverted his attention to the group of Oddish that were skipping by the field.
"I-I-"
Ash burst out laughing and squeezed the hand of the taller boy. "All this years Gou and you can't say I love you without stutters." He teased with a grin that matched his tone.
Gou frowned, "Oh shut up Ash."
"Oh sure, you can tell me to shut up without a stutter."
Gou sneered at the shorter boy. Sometimes he really questioned himself as to why he fell for Ash's stupid charms.
"I want to hear you say I love you without stuttering." Ash challenged him.
Gou rolled his eyes, "I always say I love you without stuttering."
"Uh-uh Gou. They're mostly quick and you don't even look at me directly when you say them."
"What difference does that even make?"
"It's not as intimate!" Ash whined.
"Ash, you are very needy." Gou sighed, smiling fondly at his boyfriend.
"Can you blame me for wanting attention from the one I love." Ash pouted.
Gou blushed. "Ugh, how do you say that so casually." He muttered to himself. "Fine."
Ash's eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas morning.
Gou took a deep breath and looked into the brown eyes of his boyfriend. "I," He managed to start without a stutter. "Love you." He said slowly so he could catch himself if he made a mistake.
Ash's smile widened. He leaned forward and pecked the taller boy on the lips. "I love you too Gou."
Gou, a bit taken back by the kiss, shook his head back reality and looked at Ash who was now cuddled next to his shoulder. Gou smiled and wrapped his arms around Ash.
They watched the sunset in each others arms.
