It's really fun hanging out with Gus. We still haven't found Edith yet. And he wants to meet my folks on the land sometime. I don't want to look. I really don't. But if Gus wants to, then I will. "Beatrice!" I hear Gus saying. A chill goes up my back. Still the name Beatrice terrifies me. But, Gus sounds and looks like Caleb so I like it. "Gus. Hey. It's late. You should be home already." I said. "Ya (breath) I need (breath) to ask (breath) you (breath) a question (breath)" he said breathing deeply and has his hands on his knees. I kneel down. "Augustus Waters, did you run to ask me a question?" I asked in a fun kind of way. He smiled and stood up straight. "Beatrice Prior, will you go on a date with me?" he asked. Now i'm breathless. "A, a date?" I asked. "Yes. A date. Oh, ah, have you ever been or heard of a date?" he asked. Oh my god. Did he really just say that? "Of course I've been on a date!" I yelled. "Oh. Sorry," he said. He's not of to good start when asking me on a date. I need to cool down. "Sorry. Are you sure about this?" I asked. "Beatrice, I have never been more sure in my dead life," he said. I faked laughed. "Uh, Gus, I need time to think, please," I said. He nodded and I turned around and started to walk. A date? But we just met 2 weeks ago! And, I still love Tobias even though he hooked up with Cara. Don't you love, uh, Hazel? Gus, I can't. I love you, I do, but I don't think i'm ready. That was option #1. Gus, last night you asked me on a date. I still love Tobias, and he hooked up with Cara, so I have to get over him sometime. And Hazel, well, if her cancer was killing her, she wouldn't died a while ago, but she didn't. So, it might take a while for her to die. So, my answer is yes. Yes, I will go on a date with you. That was option #2. I don't know which one, but I need time to find the right one.
