"Are you not supposed to be the kid who disappeared five years ago?"
Mifuyu was instantly confused by the sudden question of the young man, he couldn't understand what this man was asking. He thought it was impossible to have disappeared for five years, the time he shared and passed together with Yugen in that unknown place only felt like days to him. Even when he's not sure how much time passed, he could totally swear he was only gone for a few days. He was completely sure that it wasn't five years, to the point that he started to think that maybe this man was confusing him with someone else.
That's why with confidence in his voice, Mifuyu replied: "I'm not the kid you think I am. You are mistaking me for someone else. Plus, I'm not even a kid."
He wasn't convinced by Mifuyu's reply, "I don't think I'm mistaking you for someone else."
His words only annoyed Mifuyu, making Mifuyu pretend like he didn't hear him in the first place. It was such bad luck to have encountered a creepy man at the time he just returned home, and he couldn't stand anymore the look he gave him.
The white-haired man was still shamelessly staring at Mifuyu like he had encountered the most beautiful woman in the world, like he was seeing the most handsome man in front of his eyes. Well, in the eyes of Mifuyu that's what it looked like to him.
Not wanting to waste his precious time with this kind of person, Mifuyu started to walk away from him. He wanted to search for Yugen, since he was really worried of what could have happened to him after they encountered the red butterfly. A bad feeling filled his mind and heart just thinking about her, fearing that she could have done something to Yugen.
He couldn't help but to think that it was his fault, since he was the one who chose the second choice without knowing what was the price he needed to pay. But now it was too late to choose another option, it was too late to regret it now. Like Yugen had said before, there was no turning back anymore once you choose an option, and Mifuyu knew it better than anyone.
'At least for now the most I can do is to search for him. Maybe he would appear on a rainy day?' Mifuyu thought as he was about to cross the street, soon stopping in his tracks as he saw a black shadow out the corner of his eye.
He didn't have the time to think or react, when he heard the voice of the white-haired man once again, "How could I confuse you with someone else, when you disappeared in front of me after being hit by a car."
Mifuyu was so worried about the red butterfly following him once again that he really didn't pay attention to the man's words, even almost forgetting that he was being followed by him. When he turned around he was already close to him.
"What did you just say?" Mifuyu asked with the hope that the white-haired man could repeat his words once again.
He obeyed repeating his words, "How could I confuse you with someone else, when you disappeared in front of me after being hit by a car." He stepped even closer to Mifuyu, stopping just right in front of him. "However, I'm not the only one who saw you disappear that day. A lot of people saw you, too. And you vanished only leaving blue butterflies behind, even so, it seemed like they couldn't see you at all."
"Blue butterflies." Mifuyu muttered under his breath, confused at the same time by his last words.
He didn't take his eyes away from Mifuyu, hoping that he could recognize who he was. All this time he had been searching for Mifuyu together with his grandmother, since he had promised to her that he would find her grandson not matter at what cost. He never expected to find Mifuyu in the place he vanished, now the blame that have fallen upon Mifuyu's grandmother would be lifted of her shoulders.
