The bright light emitting by Hifumi and the white butterflies made the red butterfly step away, and at the same time, it made the red butterflies grow weaker. The red light emitting from the red butterflies wasn't so bright like before, they were losing their light, making the red dust slowly weaken their enticing aroma.

Mifuyu could smell how the aroma of the dust was fading away, but that did not stop him from wanting to close his eyes. He could hear Hifumi's voice still telling him not to fall asleep, but there wasn't any strength left in him to keep his eyes open. He wanted to stay awake because he feels that if he closes his eyes, he will fall into a eternal slumber; a slumber that would mean meeting his own demise.

Mifuyu did not want things to turn out this way, he just wanted to save those kids and the red butterfly from the hatred she couldn't let go after dying; to save her and make her rest in peace. But it seems, that he had lost to her the moment he had met her.

Mifuyu's fate had been already sealed since the very beginning, but he couldn't accept it. If he just accepted his fate the moment he died, things could have been different. His grandma would still be alive, Satoru wouldn't be dying and he wouldn't have to suffer all this pain of losing the ones he cared and loved the most.

Although Mifuyu knew since the very beginning that there was no way he could win against her, he still decided to continue for the sake of those kids and Satoru. He have came here fully prepared to sacrifice his life to save them, even if that means becoming a prisoner of the unseen or becoming a corrupted shadow. No matter what kind of fate awaits him, he will not give up until he manages to save them.

Hifumi, who was still holding his grandson in his arms, was still repeating the same thing over and over again, until he heard Mifuyu finally say a few words to him: "If I sacrifice myself for Gojo, will his life be spared? If the red butterfly consumes my life, will she let go of Megumi?"

After hearing the desperation in his grandson's words, Hifumi expression turned sad: "The red butterfly shouldn't become human no matter what. If she becomes human, I'm afraid that the unseen beast will take her as its next vessel, and that's something that should never happen. No matter what, you need to keep on living, even if it means not living as a human anymore. You need to stay alive for the sake of Yugen."

"For the sake of Yugen?" Mifuyu asked, not understanding what his grandfather was trying to say to him.

Hifumi nodded: "If the red butterfly manages to become human, the life of Yugen will be in danger. The life that Naofumi and the black butterfly protected all this time would be lost. If that happens, I'm afraid that the Butterfly's Realm will perish."

The moment Hifumi said that, Mifuyu nodded at his words, making him smile: "I'm glad that I was able to meet you for the second time, my child," he said as he touched his grandson's face in a gentle and loving touch. "And I know you'll be happy staying by Yugen's side, so please take care of him for me."

Hearing Hifumi's words, Mifuyu couldn't stop the sadness that started to fill his heart because he was aware that this would be the last time he will see his grandpa. Still, he nodded once again at his grandfather's words, and for the first time he knew what he has to do.

For Yugen, Mifuyu will let go of the life he has given to him. For him, he'll give up living as a human to spend all the eternity in the Butterfly's Realm with him. That's what his heart has been desiring all this time, to stay by his side and never betray his love.

Yugen is the one that Mifuyu truly loves.

Like Hifumi could know the decision his grandson has made, he got up from the ground helping Mifuyu stand back up to his feet and going towards the red butterfly. "Now, let's finish this all for once, Seiren. It's time for you to know about the truth of the black butterfly and the unseen beast. And for that, you have to meet Naofumi one last time."
