George walked down the prime path, his head hung low hiding the puffy eyes and redness in his cheeks. His feet dragged.

So heavy. So fucking heavy.

He was tired. Exhausted of all his emotions.
He felt defeated.

Every step got more agonising as he made his way to his holiday home.

So tired.

He reached his door. His feet ached. His muscles throbbed.

Oh god they throbbed.

Gravity was pulling at his eye lids. Barely able to keep them open, he let them fall, along with the rest of his body.

So... so... tired.

"George, baby"
Georges eyes flickered open to a tall man with dirty blonde hair.
He stuttered, uncoordinated and confused, trying to form words, but he didn't know what to say.
"Shhh Georgie." The words were soothing and calm.
They filled George with a sense of self under the clear moonlit sky and bright stars. He felt completed.
The man leaned in slowly and brushed his lips against the brunette.
The cool night air rustled the boys hair ever so slightly.
Georges stomach fluttered. He felt drawn to the light pink softness that layed barely an inch from his face. He wanted nothing more then to connect their lips.

Mesmerised. He was mesmerised by this mystery man with...

green eyes? A hint of gold?
He couldn't tell in the darkness.

But before he could decipher whether this fever Dream was real or not, the man closed the gap. George melted at the touch, his body getting weak as he leaned into the kiss.

Tongue.
Passion.
Love.
This was love.

And oh god did it feel real.

Suddenly the kiss stopped and the blonde man cupped Georges face in his hands.
His soft soft hands.
"Wake up." He whispered.
George furrowed his eyebrows. He stared at the man in complete and utter confusion.
"W-what?"

"Wake up Georgie." He said with a soft smile and a calm tone.
And with that he disappeared.

George awoke at his doorstep, uncurling his body from the ball it was in. His eyes flickered at the bright sun, that blinded him.

A Dream.

George couldn't say it wasn't disappointing.

His fingers reached his lips where Dream had kissed him. They tingled. It felt warm. Fuzzy.
He glanced around, noticing little details in the world that he hadn't noticed before. It looked a lot brighter. A lot more vibrant.

Just... just better.

He felt refreshed, that's for sure.
Despite sleeping on the doorstep outside of his house.

Free.

The word came to his mind as it wondered back to the thought of Dream lying on the hot obsidian, imprisoned by the very infrastructure he was supposed to have complete control over.

He was free. And he took a moment to truly appreciated the fact.

Free.
Free of everything he was holding in for so long. He had let go of the weight his lover burdened him with. And after all these years,
He was free.
Free of the pain, free of the heartache.

But not free of Dream.
He could never be free of Dream.

But maybe that wasn't such a bad thing...?

As his eyes adjusted to the sun, George smiled.

Dream always had a hold of George.
He was always so intriguing and admirable to him.
And even after one of the worst nights of his life, he was able to find closure, and make peace with his best friend.

Perhaps he was misunderstood.

He felt relieved. Lighter. Happier.

Maybe he had a chance.
Maybe Dream had a chance.

Perhaps with each other.

George knew he would have to visit Dream again.

He couldn't stay away after that night.
There was still more to be done.
And even more to finish.
