George awoke, easily. He got out of bed and walked to his doorstep. The warm spring air blew through the open window and tickled his nostrils.
He sneezed.
His hay fever would have been enough to send him back to bed for the day 3 weeks ago.
But today it just felt like a minor inconvenience in a world of opportunity.

For once, George felt happy. Like he had a chance. And he decided to start this beautiful day off with a visit to Dream.

Butterflies swarmed his stomach at the thought.

Dream.

He hadn't seen him since that night.

That night.

George smiled.

It wasn't a night full of emotional memories and heartache to him anymore, but instead, an unfinished night of closure, compassion and friendship.

And George decided he wanted to finish it.

He felt a tingle at his downstairs area as Dreams dominating nature entered his mind, but quickly shook the feeling away with the distraction of the water.

He leaned over the bridge outside of his house and stared into the only fish that occupied the pond outside his holiday home.

It looked lonely as It swam slowly around in the clear blueness.

Such a beautiful, yet heartbreaking sight.

He should really get some more fish.
But that could wait.

Right now, it was time for George to reunite with his beloved blonde friend.

George was unsure of what to do. He had been waiting at the portal for over 15 minutes, ringing the doorbell. Not too much though. He didn't want to be annoying.

Though he must admit. He did feel very awkward. Far too uncomfortable. The atmosphere felt off.

Earily off.

But that's just a nonsense gut feeling...

Right?

He rang the bell again, now getting impatient with Sams absence.

Suddenly, George felt a tap on his shoulder.

He turned to see a tall man in full netherite gear and tools.

"You need to leave." The gruff voice and serious tone intimidated him. As the man turned back to the prison entrance, George felt his curiosity linger.
"S-Sam?" He stuttered as he struggled get his question out, eventually giving up and letting the tall man fill in the gap.

Sams footsteps stopped as he stood just in front of the nether portal, back turned to George.

He understood what George was asking.

The Brit took a shaky breath in at Sams seriousness and formality. He contemplated the tension in the air. George only wanted to know what was going on.
Though he had to admit, he was nervous, to say the least. The vibes of this place just didn't sit right with him.
Something was definitely wrong. His stomach churned and his throat choked up as all the scenarios muddled his mind.

Silence.

It was an uncomfortable amount of time.

Deafening silence.

Sweat coated George's palms as he waited for a response.

Sam sighed deeply.
"There's a security breach. Tommy's stuck in there."

Georges chin trembled. He hoped to god that Dream didn't have anything to do with this. But then again, it was Dream. He was capable of anything.

Georges mind ran wild as all the possible scenarios clouded his head.
He took a deep breath to maintain composure.

"W- with Dream?" He managed to get out before quickly clasping his lips into a thin line.

Sam said nothing. The silence was agonising, but it answered the question.

Georges legs felt weak. He just wanted to collapse at the thought that somehow, a security problem inconveniently occurred while Tommy was visiting.

Tommy of all people.

What a coincidence.

George wanted to believe that it was nothing. Or at least his tall green lover had nothing to do with it.

But maybe a part of him, deep down, just knew...

"You need to go." The deep, stern voice pulled George out of his gut wrenching thoughts, as Sam disappeared into the portal.

His eyes glazed over as his chin trembled. He forced his lips into a thin line. He felt a tear roll down his cheek. And that just made him feel foolish.

There's no point crying.
Dream might not have had anything to do with it.

"It's fine." George muttered, as he forced a soft smile to reach his face.

And he felt better.
Well... Less worried about the situation.
Though still scared for Tommy. He knew the kid had no good memories with the green man. And he cared for him. George loved Tommy's antics and chaotic vibes. And him being on his last life with a man that could convince a bird not to fly...

He worried for Tommy.

Still though.

Dream wouldn't do anything.

Not if he thought there could be a chance at love between the two... right?
Not if Dream knew it would hurt George.
Dream would never do that to him.

George hesitated. He tried to believe his thoughts but he just couldn't convince himself.

I mean sure... he did trust Dream.
Truly.
George trusted Dream with his life.

...

Just not with Tommy's.
