it was safe to say sunwoo was shitting bricks. he didn't expect the school to keep tabs on students when they borrowed books from the library but there he was, chanhee asking him for the book back.he didn't know how or where he lost the book, but all he knew was that it was somewhere lingering in his messy bedroom.
"how in the world did you loose the book?" chanhee exasperated, pinching the skin in between his eyes with a loud sigh. sunwoo gripped onto the hem of his school uniform.
he hadn't seen chanhee this angry before. yes, sunwoo always saw him angry or annoyed as he always bothered chanhee every chance he got, but he hadn't seen that look on his face before.
sunwoo actually felt bad for chanhee. he knew he began working in the library for extra credit and it meant a lot to him. "look, i'll try to find it! i know how much this job means to you so i'll really try to find it, i promise."
to say chanhee was shocked at what sunwoo said was an understatement. he never heard sunwoo sound so sincere before and he somehow trusted that he could find the book.
chanhee sighed, relaxing his stiffened shoulders. "alright, i need that book by monday. don't forget, okay?"
sunwoos eyes glistened. he knew chanhee would understand, that's how he was. "thank you so much," sunwoo said, taking chanhees hand in his, "i'll definitely get it to you by monday."
sunwoo hadn't realized that he grasped chanhees hand in pure excitement. he hastily let go of his hand, placing his hands awkwardly into his pant pockets.
chanhee cleared his throat as he slowly wiped his hands against his pants. the awkward atmosphere was heavy and thick and sunwoo was dying for his brain to think of anything to put an end to the awkward silence.
then it hit him.
"i might need someone to help me find the book, ya know. my room is a big mess and it's gonna take more than one person to find the book."
chanhee knew what sunwoo was implying and there was no way in hell he was going to go to sunwoos house and help him. no way.
chanhee eyed sunwoo and saw that his eyes were big, his eyes practically saying "cmon please help me"
"nuh uh, not gonna happen. ask eric to help you or something."
sunwoo groaned, disappointed but not surprised. he knew chanhee was going to protest, but sunwoo was persist though.
sunwoo practically begged, "awe, come on! i might not be able get it to you by monday if you don't help!" that should be able to convince chanhee.
chanhee sighed one last time and he finally gave in, not wanting to hear the younger boy whine any longer.
"fine, i'll help you look for it. but once we find it, i'm leaving and we never talk about this again. got it?"
sunwoo was beyond happy and excited. he didn't expect chanhee to actually agree, he was dreaming and asking for the impossible but- it clearly wasn't impossible.
sunwoo internally cheered but didn't want to show that he was bursting with excitement in front of chanhee. "thank you! i guess we can go to my house after school?" sunwoo said in a questiony-tone.
chanhee face palmed, "of course we're going after school dummy."

to chanhees dismay, the school day quickly ended despite all of his prayers for the school day to not end. during the remainder of his classes after his interaction with sunwoo, he was wondering why in the world would he agree to go to sunwoos house.
