(In recognition of 1K reads, I decided to drop Chapter 8 early!)
Class A also comes in, all bearing gifts for Tsunotori. She feels so honored, and she wants to decline, but they insist, so she takes the gifts.
Having 40 gifts on your birthday is pretty cool if she says so herself.
Monoma smiles at Tsunotori's happy attitude, and Shinso walks up to him and elbows him in the ribs. Monoma glares at him, but Shinso chuckles.
"You guys are good friends, planning all this for her." Shinso commends.
Monoma is a bit taken aback, but gives a soft smile. "Yeah, we are."
Kaminari comes out of nowhere and asks Shinso to come play pin the tail on the donkey with him, and Monoma ignores him.
Because today is about Tsunotori, not his one - sided rivalry with Class A.

With the essays due date already gone and done, Tsunotori's birthday party celebrated, training in the heroics class, all of them were taking a major toll on Monoma. That's why he almost fell out of his seat when Vlad King mentioned 'Work Study'.
Monoma had completely forgotten about that. They were supposed to pick a hero that had enough qualifications to have a work study program. None of the agencies that Monoma went to had those qualifications, and if they did, they just didn't want him, saying his quirk would require a team effort, whereas they needed people who could be strong on their own. Idiots. He could copy a villain's quirk as well as a hero's people!
Monoma grumbled as their teacher continued, Vlad King giving them some kind of speech when they were on one of the U.A buses, heading towards the train station. "Now that you all are in your second year and have your provisional licenses, I expect that you all attend your work studies from here on out with the 3 D's - Determination, Discipline and Diligence. Now, I presume you all have attained work studies, yes?"
Monoma blushed slightly, embarrassed at the fact that he was the only one who didn't say yes. He had hoped his teacher would just not notice, but he so very much underestimated Vlad-sensei.
"Monoma?" his teacher asked, sounding worried. "You don't have a work study?"
Instead of verbally answering, Monoma just nods his head, confirming his teacher's suspicions.
"Huh, I'm certain there was an agency under your name on the list." his teacher mumbles, taking out some papers from his suitcase and shuffling them.
"Aha! The Re-Arrange Hero Agency was put under your name." his teacher looked up from the papers at Monoma. "Did you forget? Or is it a mistake?"
'Mistake my ass.' Monoma thought, trying to suppress his growing anger and frustration. Of course his father went to the fucking school and decided to put him under his agency. His father always considered him useless when it came to the hero profession, why the hell would he try to help him? Just because he wanted a good image now that he had reached the Top 10 heroes since Best Jeanist retired?
"Uh, no sir. It's not a mistake. I guess I must have forgotten until now." Monoma laughed nervously. Vlad King gave Monoma a questioning glance- because who the hell forgot that they were having a work study under one of the Top 10 heroes in Japan?- Fortunately for Monoma, once his teacher opened his mouth, the bus stopped.
Monoma let out an internal sigh of relief. 'Saved by the bus.' he thought, before they all piled out of the bus and into the train station.
Monoma took a look at the screen displaying the place where trains would be departing and the time.
