Chapter 6: To New Beginnings

(Y/n POV)

After our short trip at the mall, I insisted that we go downtown. On our walk, we see the band Afterglow. The band consists of Tomoe and her childhood friends. We saw them waiting at the line outside of the ramen place.

Y/n: "Hello, girls!" I said as I waved at them.

Tomoe: "Y/n-senpai! Lisa-senpai! Hello!" Tomoe said as the others also said hi.

Y/n: "I take it that you guys are gonna eat here?" 

Moca: "Yep~! We just finished practicing, Y/n-san."

Himari: "Are you two on a date, Lisa-senpai, Y/n-senpai?!" Himari asked like she'd die if she won't know the answer. Suddenly, Lisa held my hand. Is this another sign?

Lisa: "Yep! We're currently walking around downtown!" I never expected Lisa to be the one to say that. I was thinking that I would be the one to say it but I won't complain.

Himari: "Wow! You know, you guys are talked a lot about in school!" What?

Y/n: "Wh- why is that? I don't see on why the relationship between two people is important around the school."

Himari: "It usually isn't but you know, you two are fairly popular at Haneoka! Now that people are seeing you guys together, that makes a powerhouse couple!" Fair point.

Y/n: "Well, we aren't dating... yet." I said as I looked at Lisa who was blushing.

Himari: "Wah! Did we just hear a confession?!"

Y/n: "It's a mental exercise left for the listener. Well, we better go now! Bye-bye!" I said with a chuckle as I tighten my grip on Lisa's hand and ran.

After a minute, we were able to reach a fair distance from where the ramen place is.

Lisa: "Wh- what was that, Y/n-kun?" Lisa asked nervously.

Y/n: "I'm not gonna confess yet as we have one more place to go."

Lisa: "What's all with these 'yet'? Don't give me hope, Y/n-kun."

Y/n: "I can't confess when we have loose ends still dangling around like chimes around us."

Lisa: "I don't understand, what do you mean?"

Y/n: "Before I explain, Yamabuki bakery is near. Mind if we buy bread?"

Lisa: "No, as long as you'll tell me what you're talking about."

Y/n: "I'll tell you, now come with me."

We made our way to the bakery and as I opened the door.

Saaya: "Welcome to the Yamabuki- Ah, Y/n-san, Lisa-san, welcome!"

Lisa: "Huh, you guys know each other?"

Y/n: "Yep, I come here to buy bread often."

Saaya: "Y/n-san is a regular customer. His visits here are comparable to Moca."

Lisa: "I never knew you like bread that much, Y/n-kun."

Saaya: "I also didn't knew that you guys are close, Lisa-san and Y/n-san."

Y/n: "We're on a date."

Saaya: "O- oh, I never knew you two were that close."

Y/n: "Trust me, me neither." I said as I picked up the last piece of melon bread and gave it to Saaya. I paid for the bread and me and Lisa exited the bakery.

Lisa: "Alright, mind telling me now?"

Y/n: "I found out that you and Yukina saw me together with Kasumi at Hanasakigawa. Yukina told me you cried over that and this is my way of saying sorry. Kasumi is just a close relative of mine that I hang out with, the day I went to Hanasakigawa, I was gonna eat dinner at their place so we just planned to see each other there"

Lisa: "Don't be sorry... I didn't have the right to get jealous in the first place. I let my emotions get ahead of me... but it's because I like you, Y/n-kun." She said as she hugged me as tears started flowing out of her eyes.

Y/n: "I know, and I like you too." I said as I hugged her using one hand and used it to brush her hair lightly.

Lisa: "You do?" She said still crying.

Y/n: "I really do. Please don't cry, it makes me feel more guilty. Wanna go to the park and eat the bread we bought?"

Lisa: "Sure..."

We started heading to the park, it was a short walk from the bakery to the park. We got sight of a bench and sat down. I took a piece of bread from the bag and started eating, I took another piece and handed it out to Lisa who was still crying.

Lisa: "Thanks..." She said as she took the piece out of my hand.

I took my handkerchief out of my pocket and used it to wipe off Lisa's tears.

Y/n: Don't cry, we're already here now. I won't leave you alone ever again."

Lisa stopped crying and hugged me again.

Lisa: "Promise?"

Y/n: "Promise." I said as I hugged her back.

This is the beginning of something great and the start of new and fun experiences. Thank you for being part of my life, Lisa.
