"Isabella Banks!" Father scolded, I squealed as I dropped my paintbrush. "Father don't ever sneak up on a woman like that!" My hand rested on my heart, I dropped from the chair I was standing on, bowing slightly to greet the Alpha."Young lady do you know what time it is?" I giggled giving my dad a wide smile. "Oh dear father you know I get lost in time when I paint." I pouted, giving him my best innocent eyes. He glared. "You have to practice for your birthday ball young lady."
Groaning, I picked up my fallen brush. "But dad you know how much I hate those." He sighed, pulling out a chair and sitting down. "Bella, you know it's a royal tradition, we have to keep the customs going." I sighed, putting my things away.
"I know dad, I just dislike these balls." He nodded, dad knew I hated large crowds, I had grown in the castle basically my whole life, I was never allowed to go to other packs or parties or basically anywhere that wasn't my castle.
"Let me guess, Dorothy sent out to get me?" My mother had died when I was young, she was murdered by intruders who sought to end royal bloodlines, my dad never recovered from this, but Dorothy was a kind woman, she wasn't of big rank or anything fancy and I knew my dad liked her, but she was a little bossy and I didn't like that.
"Now don't bring Dorothy into your mess, leave my woman alone." He grumbled, I giggled as I sat next to my father. "How did border patrol go this morning?" I smiled, border patrol was a daily routine for Alphas, we had to make sure everything ran smoothly and we also had to make stronger bonds with those who secure perimeter for us, it made us closer as a pack and family.
"It was great dad! You should've seen the beautiful sunrise, and the scenery was just amazing!" Although border patrol could shift into normal wolves, us royals had a different wolf. As a lycan, we would shift as humans and wolves, instead of walking in four legs we'd walk in two. It's unnecessary for us to shift when doing patrol, our wild side takes over and basically causes ruckus. "It was pretty fun also, it started to rain and we took a break by the pond." I smiled, I loved following my father's footsteps, he was the greatest Alpha king of all, and I would be the best Alpha Queen.
"I do have something important to tell you belle," He stated, his dark eyebrows creased together like caterpillars. "What is it father?"
"I haven't been wanting to worry you my dear, but there was an attack on the Crescent pack two nights ago, I sent out some men to investigate and get me stats."
I stiffened. "What does that mean?" My mind immediately went to the people who lived in my castle, I had to keep them in and secured if such attacks happened close by. "It means we need extra security, and stricter policies everywhere." I nodded, bitting my bottom lip.
"I'm bringing the seven Alphas in tomorrow morning, and I'm adding security to you. I don't want anything to happen to you." I almost protested, but seeing my fathers tired and worried eyes made me swallow my remark. "Alright." I mumbled.
He smiled, patting my back slightly as he stood. "Thank you for not arguing with me belle," I nodded, smiling up to him. "Be ready tomorrow by 6:30 the meeting is at 7:30 and I need you in your best gown ready to impress. These Alphas need to know who's boss and who makes the rules."
