My Puzzle

84 3 1

A woman walks towards me
A box in her hands
She put it on front of me
And takes of the rubber band

I open the box to reveal a puzzle
A fantasy puzzle
The woman smiles
And then leaves

There's no directions
No instructions
Left to me to ensemble on my own

Took me two hours to complete
More pieces that I thought

Pieces so small some think
That if they did it
They'd lose some pieces
As the remaining number decreases

The woman came back with
A drink in her hand
She nods once and takes
A sip from her cup

She tells me to stand up
And move back so I may
See my finished work

I do as she says
And what I see isn't what
I expected

I check the box
And my answer is confirmed

The image in the puzzle is me
Being happy
Smiling

Tears well up in my eyes
As I take in the picture on the puzzle
I let the answer sink in

Me, smiling and being happy
Me, not feeling anything bad
It really is a fantasy
