I am alone in this world.
I accept that.
When you showed up,
I had to take a deep breath,
You looked nice today.
Your hair brushed to one side,
A nice shirt and jeans.
Casual, but nice.
He orders, his bagel and coffee.
Slowly makes his way back to the table in the far back.
With me.
"Hello Abigail."
He takes a seat across from me.
"Hi, Caleb."
"It's Abby, by the way."
He smiles and looks at me.
"Okay 'Abby' whatever you say."
Why does he still sit back here,
With me,
A dandelion,
In a world full of roses?
His hand rests on top of mine and I haven't even noticed.
Just a little touch from him felt like heaven.
His warm big hands,
On top of my skinny, fragile ones.
"What would you do if.....
I told you I wanted to die?"
It was a blurt.
But it came out of my mouth.
I can't bring my eyes to look at him.
But I do.
His face is grim.
He's shocked.
He quickly calms himself before speaking.
"I'd tell you to stop once, and that's it. what you do on from then are your choices."
