Chapter Four

NORMAN (POINT OF VEIW)

Ray looked down and me and froze. An overlay of pink dusted his face getting darker and darker in a second. I hesitantly gave him back the book and backed up.

"Sorry.." I said trying to break the silence.

"N-no its u-uhm fine." Ray took the book and looked around the room trying to not make eye contact with me.
I really wanted to kiss him.. But if he doesn't have the same feelings then our friendship would be ruined.
He told me that he liked someone else when I told him that he liked Emma. What if that person was me?

The chances of that were slim but I was willing to take the risk.
I stepped back towards Ray closing the gap between us. 'I hope this doesn't backfire..'
I cupped his face with my hand and leaned in pressing my lips against his. To my surprise Ray kissed me back.
I pulled away and Ray was completely dumbfounded.

He was red before but now he was a whole fire truck-

"Ray. Are you ok?" I asked laughing.

"Yeah, i'm f-fine.." Ray answered at a loss of words.

I'm surprised I even had the guts to do that. Normally I would never do something like that but I got this random courage out of nowhere.
I wonder what this made us.. Are we a couple now? I still don't even know if he was ok with the kiss. And what if he didn't like me and he liked someone else? He probably thinks i'm weird..

I hope i didn't just fuck up my friendship...

"I-I gotta go!" Ray exclaimed after leaving the room in a hurry.
That was not helping me at all..

I left to go find Emma at the table for breakfast and of course she was there talking to mom and the other children.

Emma is a very hyper and energetic person. She loves to make everyone happy and that's what I love most about her.
Was this the same love I feel for Ray?

No. It's different..
With Emma I feel like a loving brother taking care of her and making sure she's happy.
But with Ray...

It feels different. I just don't know how to explain it yet.

I waved and walked over to Emma while looking around the cafeteria.

Ray wasn't here...

"Hey Emma!" I greeted.

"HI NORMAN!!!" She screamed and in return giving me a burst eardrum. thanks Emma...

"Where's Ray?"

"Uh, I'm not sure. I haven't seen him after I woke him up. OH AND BY THE WAY, THE NEW CHILD IS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE AND CUTE AND-"

Emma kept talking about the new child but I wasn't paying attention. I was thinking about what happened earlier. My heard started racing, but in a good way and I felt like melting. Then my heart started to sink when I remembered that he ran and now isn't here.

He has to be in the library. I'll go find him after breakfast and after EMMA STOPS BLABBING ABOUT THE NEW CHILD-

time skip      ~after breakfast~

I decided to go look for Ray in the library and sure enough he was there reading a book.

"Hey Ray!" I said while scaring him in the process.

"AH!" Ray yelled jumping a bit. "W-What are you doing here?"

"I came to find you because we need to talk."

"Talk about what?"

"You know what.." I said earning a small blush in return from Ray.

"Oh.. that." Ray answered scratching his neck nervously.

"I just want to know who you like. If it's not Emma, then who?"

Ray began to blush and squirm in the chair he was sitting in. He tried running again but I was not gonna let him get away. Not this time.

I pinned him to the wall and demanded him to answer.

"Who do you like Ray?" I teased without letting him loose...

AH! yes i know.. this was a short chapter. I know I said I would only post twice a week but i feel guilty if i don't post within a couple day.
I know i shouldn't feel that way and i should post when i need to without being stressed
