Kazuichi x Reader

I don't have much of a A/N for this one. Ok well ty for reading this takes place in the NWP if there was a chapter added after chiaki's execution!
TW: mention of weapons; suicide.

Y/N led a quiet life. She rarely talked. She rarely got scared. She never yelled. She always kept everyone calm during trials. But today was different.

Yesterday, the class was presented with a motivation to kill. This morning, she was approached by Monokuma. He handed her a slip of paper. She opened it and her eyes widened immediately. She stared at Monokuma in utter despair.
"No. No. No no no no NO! NOT AGAIN GOD DAMNIT!" She screamed. Monokuma giggled and disappeared.
"Please not again." She whispered, falling to the ground.

Flashback

Y/N entered her home.
"Mom! Dad! Big bro! I'm home~!" She shouted. No answer.
"Is anyone here? Hellooooo?" She asked. Still nothing. She walked into the dining room. She couldn't believe her eyes.

There lay her mother, father, and older brother, dead. A note lay on her mother's back.
'cyanide' It read. She shook her head. Her whole family, dead. Just because she wasn't home early enough.

End

She shook her head at the note. It had to do with the motive for sure. The motive was a single word, and nobody understood it. Except Y/N.
"cyanide" it had read. And now she was getting the note. The two words written on the note broke her heart. It was all happening again.

"Kazuichi Souda"

Time Skip

She knew what she had to do. It was the only option. The man she was in love with. He had little time left to live. If she killed someone, he would get an antidote. She cried in her room. She loved her class. She couldn't kill anyone else. So there was only one option. Herself.

She sighed and checked the time. 7:50 pm. Good. She still had about 4 hours before he dropped dead. She will confess, then die.

It was about 8:30 pm. Y/N walked to the kitchen and grabbed a kitchen knife. She made her way to Kazuichi's cabin. She hid the knife behind her back and knocked. He let her in.
"Kaz. Look at me, this is serious. I need to tell you something and I don't have much time." She said intensely. Kazuichi looked worried.
"Of course! Don't be scared, you can tell me anything." He replied. Y/N looked down.
"Wh-when I was 15, my family was killed. There was nothing at the scene of their deaths but a note. 'cyanide' is all that it read." His eyes widened as she spoke, "Yes. Yesterday's prompt was for me and me only. A small dose of the same poison that killed my family was slipped into someone's food. The person I cared about the most. If I kill someone, the person gets an antidote."
"Please don't kill me." Kazuichi pleaded. Her eyes softened.
"Of course not, silly! I've lost everyone I loved to this poison up until now. I finally love someone new and I won't let Monokuma and his stupid cyanide to take that from me." She told him.
"Why are you at my cabin then?" He asked.
"Oh Kaz..." Y/N whispered. He turned his head to the side in confusion. Y/N stood up and revealed the knife. She aligned it above her chest.
"Your the one who's been poisoned. This happened because I love you. This happens to everyone I love. But it won't win this time." She said.
"Y/N? Y/N please don't do this!" Kazuichi cried.
"I love you, Kazuichi." Kazuichi lunged at her but he was too late. Those were her last words. By the time he got to her limp form, the knife had plunged deep into her heart. She was dead.

A syringe fell into the room. Knowing what Y/N would want, Kazuichi administered the antidote into his arm. And then he cried. He cried until the sun rose and his friends found them.

He hadn't spoken a single word since she died, then all of a sudden he was waking up in a green pod. The Neo World Program was explained to them. They all nodded and went to take care of themselves. Kazuichi's throat ached from lack of use and he drank some water. They had been told that their friends would wake up in 2-5 hours and he wanted her to be the first person he said anything to. They went back to the room to wait. Everyone woke up besides her and they were all welcomed back excitedly and caught up.

It had been about 45 minutes since the last person woke up. Suddenly, Y/N felt herself jolt awake. She was in a large green pod. Her chest hurt terribly and had a bad headache. Once her chest calmed down, she clicked her pod. Kazuichi's head flew up as he watched her stand up. All eyes fell on her as she steadied herself and clutched the spot where she stabbed herself. Kazuichi froze, then sprinted to her. He wrapped his arms tightly around her and fell to the ground. She was still very unstable.
"I love you, too." He said. His voice was scratchy and it hurt his throat. She wrapped her arms around him.
"I'm sorry, Kazuichi. I'm sorry, everyone." Y/N said. He buried his head into her shoulder and took a deep breath. She was back. It was all gonna be ok.
"Kaz, you know I love you, but the last thing I remember, at all, was a knife plunging into my heart and everything going black so can someone explain?" She asked. Kazuichi stood up and carried her to the group. They explained the Neo World Program. Then, Kazuichi spoke.
"I-I... you told me about your family and cyanide. Then you said that I was poisoned and that you loved me and I-I tried to stop you but you pushed the knife into your chest and died. Turns out it was all a simulation though! But Chiaki... wasn't so lucky." Kazuichi said it to Y/N but he was the only one who knew what happened. So this was also telling the group what happened.
"You killed yourself?" Teruteru asked. Y/N nodded.
"I-I remember now... I remember what it felt like." Y/N cried. All expressions grew extremely worried. Y/N looked down, tears forming in her eyes.
"It was slower than I thought it would be. It hurt terribly, Kazuichi." the girl continued softly. He pulled her into his arms.
"Thank you." He said.
"For what? All I did was cause you despair." she responded.
"That's not true. I'd be dead if you didn't sacrifice yourself for me." Kazuichi reassured her.
"Bu-" Y/N was silenced by Kazuichi softly kissing her. She was surprised, but closed her eyes and kissed back.

"Hush."
