Madeline's POV

I went home early because kai and kaori told me that they have things to do, it's been a long time when the last time I talked to pearl, I  know what we did violated the one of the most important rule in our school and I understand why pearl's parents prohibited her from talking to me, they thought of me as a bad influence to her, I get that, I caused her moving up to another place and it's a self blame for me now, I just hope she's happy and doing fine

I decided to ride a bus to get home because I am still not convince my dad picking me up before and after school I just find it annoying 

I entered the bus quietly, I looked around to find a seat but failed and ended up standing holding the stool bar, it doesn't matter to me anyway 

I took out my phone and wear my airpods to listen some song, when a guy wearing a black cap suddenly avoid my gaze and tightened the hug on his bag, I rolled my eyes in the scene and looked outside the window when the bus stop again for more passengers, this time it was a group of guys, they have this boasting presence with them, while the last to enter is shouldering a guy smaller than his height, he's wearing thick glasses and he I can tell that he looked scared he even paid for them

''move'' the one without necktie said in threatening voice to the girl sitting near me, and he seated instead leaving the girl standing

what kind of bullshit is this

I just ignored him since I am not in the mood to smash his head up

the three of them suddenly laugh out loud and turned their attention to the guy wearing a black cap and because he is near to them

Jake's POV

I hid behind my bag as I try to glance at madeline, when a guy looks the same age as me hit my leg with his knee, I looked at him and did a mental question

''give the seat to me'' he said in an obnoxious way

I was nervous for a moment but not because I'm scared of him, because  of the thought she might recognize me and beat me up after, I have to make excuses

''but you see, this seat is already taken, I got it first'' I said in a low voice, a mocking smirk plastered on his face

''meongcheong-ilago mwo laess-eo?[what did you say jerk]

I did not clearly understand him muttered since there are still words that I don't understand in  korean, but I know that he muttered a curse because he hissed

''are you still not going to stand up or I'll break your face once we get down'' he tried to remove my cap and played it, I quickly covered my head, madeline must not see me

''this looks expensive, can I have it'' he even said, and I rolled my eyes causing me to grabbed it back from his hand and wore it again, he looked insulted for a moment while I remain silent and ignored him

''this guy has no idea on where he's showing an attitude'' I heard him chuckled to his friends

''he must not be from here'' the other guy commented and tried to get the cap on my head but this time I grabbed it back

''you guys are being too rude don't you think'' I sarcastically said in a pure english that made them stop for a second ''tch.... losers'' 

I went here to follow madeline not to pick a fight

When the bus stop, I got off quickly

Madeline's POV

I heard their conversation and the voice seems to be familliar, the guy was too relaxed to fight but if were in his shoes those guys will surely going home with marks on their ugly faces

''you guys are being too rude don't you think?'' they were frozen for a moment hearing an english word, and it's obvious that they cutted classes too much

''tch losers'' I heard him muttered

when the bus stopped, the guy wearing cap got off and followed by the three guys and I decided to get off too 

I saw them tried to grab his collar on an alley and punched him on his right face that made his cap removed and now he is laying on the floor I looked closely to see who it was and was surprised for a moment to see jake 

I hid near them but later got irritate and run towards them

''are you guys mad because you can't understand what he said a while back?' I intentionally said they stop on their tracks as soon as they heard me

''do you want me to translate it?'' I asked

they all look to each other ''he told that you are just bunch of useless jerks'' I said in amusement, making them angry

''yah- I did not say that'' Jake disagreed defensively, lips flowing a little blood

''this is our business we'll deal with you later'' their leader said, and tried to punched him when I picked a stone threw it straightedly to the leader's head

he hissed in pain, and turned to me while I stay nonchalant he pushed my shoulder backward 

''yah- I don't go easy with girls, I can punch you in your face right now but you're pretty and you might be turned off if I beat you up'' he said trying to flirt

''will that make you less embarrassed when you got beaten up by a girl?''

''wha-

I stormed and kicked hard the left of his face, the other one lounge and punched me but I pulled his hair automatically and bump his head on the wall the last one was hesitant at first but when he saw his friends laying and whimpering he ran at us and did not even came back, I lift Jake's bag with his black cap and removed a bit of dirt and handed it to him

I helped him stood up 

''don't you know how to punch?'' I sarcastically asked,  but he shook his head and completely avoiding an eye contact ''what is wrong with you?'' I mumbled annoyingly

''v-violence does not answer everything'' he stuttered lowkey covering his mouth

''shits like them are everywhere'' I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms on my chest ''haven't you tried hurting someone in physical''

''oh that, it's not because I don't know but jerks like them shouldn't be beaten because that will just make you similar to them'' he said not leaving his politeness, I find him extemely innoccent for a second, it's my first time encountering a modest guy

''then, what do you take me for?, I'm not like them'' I dimly said and turned my back at him

'' That is not what I meant'' he catch up

''if I did not come you, they could've been destroyed your pre-'' I cut my own sentence because I almost told him that he has a pretty face

''wh-who -what?'' he asked clueless that made me annoyed more

why did I help this guy anyway I could just ignored him with those bullies and left him dead, I don't really care anyway, he doesn't even know how to defend himself, is he gay

''you shouldn't walk on dark alleys like this because they can kill you here, don't you ever think about telling this to your friends, if you want to get beaten by me if  I knew that you'll spread rumors I will do worse on you, got that?''

Jake's POV

I just nodded continously as she threteaned but the truth is I'm not scared of her at all, Instead I pulled off a smile finding it cute when she scolds, she looked at me weirdly-asking and immediately my smile fades when she flicked her thumbs in front of me

Madeline's POV

''are you listening''

 ''sawwwrey'' is that british or what, who cares anyway

I turned around and continued walking when I heard him called my name 

''fighting is not always the solution of world peace, arraseo?'' he shouted, a soft laugh escape my mouth as a reaction
