Chapter Eight

"Guys, go to the hotel and get some rest. We will pick this up tomorrow," Hotch says. We all looked at each other and nodded. We all walked outside when a hand grabbed my wrist.

"Hey, can you come with me?" A voice said. Spencer. I looked at him. Even though it was dark, his hazel eyes shine so brightly.

"Sure," I say. We got into the SUV and drove off. I didn't know where we were going, but I wasn't going to ask him. Soon We arrived at Bennington Sanitarium. Spencer parked and I got out of the SUV. I waited for him, to come out. Finally, he did.

"Why are we here Wikipedia?" I asked him as we kept walking.

"My mom lives here," he says. I rarely ever hear him talking about his mom. We walk in. He went up to a lady and asked for his mom. She nods and points to where she was at. I awkwardly (like I always do) walk over with Spencer. Soon he sits across from his mom and I stand there awkwardly.

"Spencer. This is a surprise," She says with a smile.

"Hi mom," Spencer says.

"How's everything going in Virginia?" She asked me.

"Good. Mom, this is our newest team member Lilly Armstrong," Spencer said. I came over and sat down shyly. She smiles at me. "Lilly this is my mom Diana." Soon they started talking. I decided to take out my book. After about five minutes I put my book down.

"How many words can you read honey?" Diana asked me.

"18,000 per minute," I say shyly. Her eyes widen.

"Wow. And I thought my son was the only one on that team who can read fast," She says. I smiled.

"Well, he is smarter than me. Even though people say I can ramble on about stupid stuff," I say.

"Yep perfect match," she says. I looked over at Spencer who was blushing. I smiled.

"Well we got to get back to the hotel, but it was nice seeing you again mom," Spencer says.

"Bye nice speaking to you Lilly," She says.

"Bye," I say. We get up and walked out. We got into the car and drove off. "Your mom seems really nice."

"Well I had to take care of her since my dad left us," He says.

"Why?" I asked him.

"My mom has schizophrenia," He says. "I took care of her till I was eighteen."

"At least you have someone around. You're lucky. I lost my parents when I was young," I say. He smiles. Weird.

"Well you have a family now," he says. We pulled up to the hotel. He walks in and went to the elevator. He waited for me. I got into the elevator with him and we went to our separate rooms. There were only two girls and four guys. We decided that J.J and I would stay in one room while Morgan and Spencer stay in one and Rossi and Hotch shared. Morgan started arguing with everyone saying 'I'm not sharing a room with Spencer.' But in the end, you can't always get what you want. I knocked on the door and J.J opened the door. She smiled and let me in. She handed me a key card.

"Where did you and Spence go?" She asked me.

"Just went to see his mom," I say putting my stuff down.

"Ah," She says. I smile. I decided to get ready for bed since I was yawning so much. Whenever I got ready, I got into bed. Noticing it was almost midnight.

"Night J.J," I say.

"Night Lilly," She says turning off the light.

*Next day*

*Lilly's P.O.V*

I woke up at six in the morning to get ready. I got dressed into a black tank top that says Have a pizza my heart, and then it has the heart pizza. I also got ready into black skinny jeans, black and white converse, my brown messenger bag, my black snapback that says Whatever and then the fist on it. I also had my phone and on the case, it says Head In The Clouds. I walked into the kitchen to see that J.J already had the coffee all done.

"Hey Lilly, how did you sleep?" She asked me.

"Great," I say with a perky smile. She looked at me.

"How can you be this perky at six in the morning?" She asked me. I shrugged.

"I'm usually not a morning person, but when I am I know something good is about to happen," I say. She hands me a cup of coffee and I pour my cream and sugar. I finished the cup of coffee and put my cup in the sink. As soon as I did, I heard a knock on the door.

"I got it, Lilly," J.J says. I smile. I walked out to see the rest of the team standing there.

"You ready?" Spencer asked us. I nod. I grabbed my jacket and headed out. We all headed for the elevator. As we got in Hotch pressed the ground button and we headed down. It was all awkward before we got down to the lobby. Soon we all walked out. Someone grabbed my arm and I looked back to see Morgan.

"I see you and pretty boy has been getting along very well," He says walking with me.

"Yeah, well when you awkward and shy you can kinda meet someone who is like you," I say.

"I think you opened him up. Like when he joined back, he was never this happy," He says.

"Well nobody was really relating to what he was going through," I say. Morgan smiles and gets into the driver's seat on the SUV. OK so here how it went Morgan, Spencer and I in one, and J.J, Hotch and Rossi in the other. Spencer sat in the back and I sat in the front with Morgan. It didn't take long to get back to the station. Soon we all got there.

"Hotch," James said. He looked up. "They just found another body." We all looked at each other.

"OK Reid, Armstrong. Go to the crime scene. We will stay here and build more on the profile," Hotch says. We nod. Spencer and I went out to the SUV and got in.
