Chapter Twenty-Six

*Spencer's P.O.V*

I waited in the waiting room at the hospital. I was so worried that Lilly was not going to make it. The thought of it just made me worried. I was praying that she was OK, that she was going to make it. It has been hours since I was in the ambience car with her. Not long after the team came. Soon Morgan walked up to me.

"She's going to be fine Reid," He says. I licked my lips.

"How do you know that for sure?" I asked him.

"Just... Have faith," He says. I looked at him.

"How are you not scared for her. She is your best friend," I say.

"Well, I have faith she will make it. She is a strong kid, just like you," He says. He smiles and walks off. Soon a nurse walked out.

"Lilly Armstrong?" She asked. I walked up to her.

"Yes?" I asked her hoping for good news.

"Well, she is doing fine. She will be on crunches until the leg heals, but other than that she is fine. Right now she is still out but I advise one person at a time to go in and see her, just until she wakes up. Whenever she does wake up I'll tell you how long she has to stay in here," She says. I turned and looked at the team.

"Morgan, go," I say.

"No way. You like her," He says.

"But you have known her longer. Plus if she does wake up she would be happy you would be there," I say. He groans.

"Fine," He says. He walks down the hallway with the nurse. Soon J.J walks up to me.

"You sure you're going to be OK?" She asked me.

"Yeah. Now that I know she survived," I say.

*Hours*

*Spencer's P.O.V*

We have all been taking turns waiting for Lilly to awake. Soon J.J walked out. We all looked up.

"She's awake," She says. I took a breath of relief. "You can all come in." We all got up and walked into the room. I stood while everyone else sat down either in a chair or on the floor.

"Hey," She says. Weak but strong in her voice.

"Hi," I say.

"How are you feeling?" Morgan asked her.

"Well other than my leg hurting like a bitch I'm fine Morgan," She jokes. We all smile. After a couple of hours, everyone left except me. I sat down next to her.

"Lilly there is something I want to tell you. Something that I wanted to tell you ever since New Year," I say.

"Yes Spencer," She says.

"I-" I was about to say something when the laptop went off. Lilly accepts the call and it was Garcia.

"Oh, my sweet Jesus I am so glad your OK chipmunk," She says. I smile at the nickname.

"I'm fine Garcia," Lilly says.

"When I heard you got shot I thought my little chipmunk wasn't going to make it," She says. Lilly looked at her and smiled.

"You really do care do you?" I asked her.

"Of course I do. What did you think? It was all an act?"She asked her. She smiles. Her smile could light up anything.

"Hey I'm going to go," I say.

"Oh OK," She says. I get up. "Wait. You wanted to tell me something."

"It can wait," I say. I walk out.

*Lilly's P.O.V*

"Hey I'm going to go," Spencer says.

"Oh OK," I say. He gets up. "Wait. You wanted to tell me something."

"It can wait," He says. He walks out.

"What was that about?" I asked myself. I have forgotten that Garcia was there.

"He likes you," She says. I jumped.

"What? No way. We are just friends," I say.

"Oh don't you lie to me chipmunk. Everybody knows about your feelings towards him. It's just Spencer we worry about," She says.

"Yeah OK, Garcia. I gotta go before this conversation gets weird," I say. She smiles and ended the call.

* a few days later*

*Lilly's P.O.V*

I finally got out of the hospital and was in my hotel room. Hotch said I had a few days off to recover. OK, one thing. I do not like days off from work. I don't know why it just bothers me. And two. Being stuck in that hospital for four days scared me because I hate doctors and I hate hospitals and I hate needles. What if a doctor was giving me a needle in a hospital? I shivered at the thought. Stop it Lilly and just pack. I thought. It was kinda hard packing when you on crunches. Soon I heard a knock on the door. I walked over to the door and opened it to see Spencer.

"Spence. What are you doing here? I thought you were with the rest of the team," I say. He walks in.

"There is something on my mind that has been bugging me," He says. I walked over to my duffel bag and started packing. He came over and helped me.

"What is it?" I asked him not to make eye contact. After what happened a few days ago I can't even look at him. What I said was really stupid.

"Did you... Did you really mean what you said a few days ago?" He asked me. I licked my lips.

"No, your not stupid Spencer. I am. What I said, I wasn't thinking-" He cuts me off.

"-No not that. That you are in love with me. Is it true?" He asked me I looked at him.

"Yes, Spencer. I have been avoiding my feelings for you because in the end I really do love you and I just don't want to see you get hurt," I say. "You are the only person I can talk to about anything. Not even Morgan I could talk about my tragic past with. And honestly, I don't want to lose you as a friend." He looks at me. I looked down, but he lifts my chin so I am looking at him.

"No matter what Lilly, your not going to lose me," He says. Soon he placed his lips on mine.
