Oh finally! My key somehow found its way to its respective keyhole! Now, I can get away from the jostling crowd in Dropship... crowds make me feel a sense of enochlophobia...
Okay, where is my second task? I should do them in chronological order so that I can tick them off... ohh wait, my IPad does that for me already? That's cool.
And my second task is...
'Office: Swipe Card'? That sounds easier than the first one. At least I don't have to deal with a surging crowd when I do it.
But where is the office though? I should probably use my IPad's digital map to locate it... andddd AHA!! Found it! (I think...)
Just pass by Storage, Comms and Weapons, then I'm there already... the thought of the lava pit scares me so although it's actually shorter to pass by the pit, I'll... rather not.
Staring at my map, I vaguely process leaving the Dropship to pass by Storage. However, as I pass by Storage on my way to Office, a tingle creeps up my spine. Frowning, I turn around but there is no one following me. Strange... I could have sworn that someone was stalking me earlier on...
Eh, that must have been a figment of my own imagination. The iciness of the climate here is so overwhelming that it is making my brain freeze over and making my nerves get excited... and for a rather jumpy first-timer in Among Us, that is not good...
Shaking my head, I continue going to Office. Making a beeline for the swipe card task, I take out my card.
Swoosh. Easyyy...
'TOO SLOW. TRY AGAIN.'
To my annoyance, however, the swipe card detector rejects my first few attempts to swipe the card, showing the message above in blaring green letters.
Jeez. Why so particular?
Okay, fine, you dumb machine. I'll swipe faster. Happy?
'TOO FAST. TRY AGAIN.'
'BAD READ. TRY AGAIN.'
My futile attempts to swipe my card continue as my swiping speed increases.
Oh wow. This... This is unbelievably impossible. Simply... impossible. I should lodge a complaint after this game is up... basically, a few hours from now.
But as for now, I shall just give up on this insurmountable task and move on. I promise, though, that if the next task is as hard as this one, I'm out of here. Like, dang, I know that this is my first time playing Among Us, which makes me a giant noob, but does the game really have to throw me like this??
I am so engrossed in my thoughts and trying to keep my card in one of my many side pockets that I do not see the knife at my throat until a few seconds later after it is there.
When I do, though, I yelp and stumble backwards in alarm, my eyes widening in horror.
However, when I stumble backwards, I collide into someone behind me.
That someone behind me... his or her arm grips my throat, almost choking me to death. And to my utmost horror, the knife continues to draw ever nearer to my throat. One inch more and it may actually damage one of my veins which are vital to my life.
"I... I..." I start to stammer, lips quivering, knowing that there is probably no one else around apart from my attacker and me... and that if I scream, he or she would be all too happy to slice my throat open...
"Heyyy, Orange..." The whispered voice in my ear bounces around in my head as I try to associate the voice to a very, very familiar person.
Am I going to die? Why is the person behind me not killing me? Is he (or she) relishing my suffering? Or worse, is he (or she) about to make my death so long and gruelling that I would bleed out even before he (or she) actually damages one of my vital organs?
