"Matt, I'm telling you" I say, getting annoyed with his constant nosiness.
"I was at that art class" I add, yet again.
I hate lying to him.
But I know I wont be left alone if I tell him where I actually was last night.
He gives me a look of disapproval before returning to his phone whilst having that I-don't-believe-you look.
My stomach is hurting because of the lying but I'm trying to make som waffles to think of something else than last night.
But Matt's constant reminder is getting to me.
I can't lie for shit, but at least he's not asking the wrong questions.
Or rather, right.
Just then Jake had woken up and stumbled groggily into the kitchen/living room.
"Morning" He mumbled with a lazy smile and fell down on top of Matt in the sofa.
Matt kissed the top of his head, "Good morning, lazy" He smiled genuinely and kept scrolling.
"I'm making waffles!" I exclaimed happily to try and get Matt's sour face off of me.
Jake looked at me for a moment before saying anything. "Oh, I can't wait" He said unsure.
I'm not the only shit liar here.
"I think I actually nailed it! It's only a little burnt" I told him, satisfied with my work.
"Well then! Let's go" Jake uttered, still sounding a bit tired but at least he had a smile on his face. Like always.
Jake rose up again after kissing Matt and sat down at the bar in front of me.
"Hand me some" He said with a grin and I happily piled on a few onto his plate and served him them. He tasted and I waited.
"Not too bad, Mila" He said with another grin and kept eating.
"Oh my god!" Matt exclaimed loudly which made both me and Jake jump.
"Matt! You made me drop one on the floor!" I complained as I picked the waffle up from the floor and threw it in the bin.
"Milagros" Matt sat up in the sofa and stared me down. He never says my full name.
"Mi-la-gros!" He added on, looking in disbelief.
"What, Ma-tt" I teased him the same way he'd done only it didn't sound half as fun.
"You're a fucking shit liar!" Matt came up to the bar and showed me his phone.
"What the fuck is this?" He questioned me with a, very, disappointed look on his face.
I looked at his phone and my stomach sank. I felt my body tense as I read the article.
"Zayn Malik's ex girlfriend returns to his apartment after 6 month split, seen exiting his residence a few hours later"
I immediately took his phone and kept scrolling down.
"We can only think about the things they had time for during this reunion! Her hair even looks way more tousled as she's exiting and leaving into a taxi"
"I can't believe you! Art class my ass!" Matt has his voice raised. His voice is almost never raised.
Jake is looking very uncomfortable and decides to leave with his plate of waffles into their room instead of this war zone.
"What were you thinking? Did you think? What did you do?!" Matt continues his questioning and steals his phone back from me.
When I don't answer he sighs.
