Sofia's POV:
I smell the saltiness of the sea. I see darkness. I hear the sound of crashing waves. Wait... there's something else: I hear the faint sound of a melodious feminine voice singing. One that is familiar to me.
"Don't do this! I have a family! A wife and kid!" A new masculine voice yells but no one appears to have acknowledged his plea.
"Where am I..." I whisper. But all I see is darkness. 'Where are those sounds coming from?'
"Sofia?" I hear suddenly. "Is that you?" It came from the man that spoke just a minute ago.
"Yes. But who are you?" I reply to the voice, looking all around attempting to find where the source is.
"You don't remember me?" He asks sounding hurt.
"I'm sorry, no." I answer.
Then I hear a scream followed by maniacal laughter that I think came from the one who was singing.
I gasp and raise from my bed, eyes wide. "What the heck was that." I rub my eyes, feeling tired after experiencing that dream which felt so real, tangible even.
A knock at my door brings me back to reality as I sit there contemplating my sanity. "Come in." I outcry, figuring it was only Violet. However, instead of a dark-eyed, dark-haired women, a blond-headed, blue-eyed lady walked into my room, followed by Baileywick.
Before I could ask what I was thinking, Baileywick states, "Good morning, Princess Sofia. This is Summer; she is a maid-in-training and will be taking over Violet's responsibilities from now on."
I stand up from my bed to give a proper greeting to the newcomer. I curtsy and apologize for her having to meet me while I'm dressed in night clothes with hair a mess.
"No worries, Princess. May I help you pick your dress today?" Summer replies. True to her name, her voice was very bright and cheerful.
"Uh, sure, if you want." At that, we stepped into my closet.
[20 minutes later]
As I'm sitting at the dining table, in that purple dress with pearls I used to wear all the time, mom gets my attention by speaking. "I hope you're ready for the ball preparations today, Sofia."
I had completely forgotten about the ball announcing mine and Hugo's wedding until she mentioned something about it. "Oh, I am."
"Good. Hugo will be here later on to help out too, " she said in return.
. . .
Sometime 'later,' Hugo arrives and we get to work on the ball. Which currently isn't looking very ball-like. Eh, it's a work in progress.
"Allow me to escort you to the ballroom, m'lady." Hugo bows.
I just roll my eyes because he knows all too well I hate it when he does that. And I assure you, I have made it perfectly clear that he should really stop. But it's whatever; we all know he'll do it regardless of my protests.
Hugo begins to take my hand and pull me towards the direction of the ballroom. But as I'm now behind him, I notice something in the middle of his back. "I make tails wag." I read and laugh as I do. "When were you going to tell me? When we're at the alter? I think that it would have been nice to know that I'd be sharing my man with dogs." I chuckle as I catch up to Hugo's side still holding his hand.
"What are you talking about, Fia?" Hugo asks incredulously. That's when I let go of his hand to reach the sticker that was firmly planted on his back. I hold it in front of him and he immediately starts freaking out. "Oh I'm so gonna kill him for this!"
