CHAPTER THREEEEE!!! It's 10:30 and I'm meant to be revising, I have exams (ugh), SPANISH TOMORROW!!! I'm awful at Spanish so... Wish me luck! (Oh and I have to wake up at 6, uuughhhh) Anyways, lets get on with chapter 3!

Sam's POV:

I'm not sure why I said it. Was it the rush of the moment? The adrenaline? Whatever it was, the moment I said those words, I knew they were true. Freddie's jaw was hanging loosely, he looked completely awestruck - and for good reason. We had spent our entire lives hating each other, and now suddenly I liked him? It made no sense. I was confused and clearly so was he. He closed his mouth. There was so much I wanted to tell him but I was just too terrified to. He wiped my tears, his gentle hands caressing my face. His softly intense eyes stared into mine, his expression was settling. I felt a wave of comfort that only he could bring.

"I love you too, Sam Puckett."

His voice was like a thousand harps playing a lullaby. I couldn't believe he said those words. Was it to comfort me? To make me feel better? To spare my feelings? Or were they true? Did Freddie Benson love me? He placed his hands in mine once more and lead me out of my secret room. It took all of my will power to not hug him, not to fall into his arms and stay in his warm embrace forever.

"Would you like me to drop you home? It's already 9:43."

Oh. Home. I had forgotten about that.

"Um... I think I'll stay in the secret room tonight. Mom's on her special medication again." I croaked.

Freddie looked concerned once more.

"That doesn't sound nice at all, but staying in an insecure room with who knows how many hazards all night is not safe." He stated firmly.

"Oh, it's fine! I stay here all the time! I try to avoid staying with mom; I stock up on however many smoothies I can afford and stay here most nights."

Freddie looked deeply concerned.

"Sam, that isn't good for you. There isn't even a bed in here and no food." He saw me about to protest. "A few smoothies is not nearly enough to feed you, Sam!"

"But-"

"Sam! Smoothies are not food! No wonder you're always hungry!" He sounded disappointed, worried, upset. I didn't like that sound at all. He looked at me and his expression softened. He pulled me into a hug.

"I'm sorry for shouting, Sam... I'm just worried about you."

Freddie looked down at me, I could tell he meant every word of what he was saying.

"Freddie?"

"Yeah?"

"Did you mean what you said earlier? Do you really... Love me?"

"Of course I do, Sam! Sam, I would never lie about something like that."

I smiled. Hugging him was a better escape than ham or music or anything else. He was the one person who loved me. We hugged for what felt like forever, and I was completely fine with that. But then he broke the silence.

"Sam, you are not staying here. I'm not going to let you, it isn't good for you at all."

"Freddie, I can't go back home, I just-"

"Who said anything about you going back home? I'm gonna call Carly and see if you can stay with her for tonight." He gave me a kind smile.

He walked out of the room and dialed Carly's number. I followed suit. They talked for a couple minutes before he put the phone down.
