Author's Note: hey, guys hope you enjoy!
Aileen Clarke had grown up with HYDRA. Her father had been an agent, her mother had been an agent. They had all been under the guise of SHIELD agents. Her mother had died when she was about twelve, so really all she knew was her father. He was strict, but he was a good dad. He was a loving father and he wanted her to work with HYDRA as well. At the age of sixteen Aileen started training with HYDRA. She had trained with her father before that, but this was different, this was more intense. They wanted to pick the best of the best and if you weren't it, you were out. She worked her way up in the ranks. By the time she turned twenty-five her father had been killed in a tragic accident. At least that's what she had been told. He had been fighting to keep his daughter safe. They were putting her with the most dangerous man that HYDRA had access to. She was to be a 'handler' of sorts. She was going to be put with The Winter Soldier. He had found this out, and wanted to stop it, but HYDRA had no plans to do so.
Aileen sat in a stiff leather chair, high in Alexander Pierce's office. She was nervous, she had never met Alexander Pierce, she had always worked under him and been told to respect him like he was a god or something. She knew no better than to follow orders.
The rather short older man entered his office and Aileen quickly raised up and shook his hand. He gave her a nod then sat down behind his desk, switching a button to close all the blinds.
"I'm sorry to hear about your father, Clarke." He only ever called her by her last name, but it always sent a shiver down her spine the way he said it. "He was a good man." He said it like he was reciting it off of a sheet of paper. Aileen always had her doubts about HYDRA, but the way he said it with a certain cold heartedness just really sealed the deal for her. "We are assigning you to a new position." He said.
Aileen couldn't decide how to feel about this. Did she really want a new position so soon after her father's death? She had to accept, those were the rules. "We are assigning you to The Winter Soldier. He is active and we need someone to keep a close eye on him and we know that you are fluent in many languages." She stared at him in disbelief. She thought The Winter Soldier was just a story her father told her to eat her vegetables when she was younger. "Eat your broccoli or I'll get The Winter Soldier to come after you."
"Yes, sir." The woman said with a nod.
"Good, this is effective immediately. Rumlow will show you to him." Pierce said as he pressed a button then pressed the first button once more causing the shades to be lifted.
Aileen had a strong distrust for Brock Rumlow. His ulterior motives had ulterior motives. Even her own father didn't trust him, so she didn't like the idea of blindly following the man anywhere.
Rumlow soon entered the room. Without saying any words Aileen got up and followed the man. He gave her a file as they rode down on the elevator together. She read through it quickly. It was a file on the Winter Soldier, obviously. It stated his kills, status, and level of danger. That part was redacted. That's all the file gave her.
"Does this guy not have a name?" Aileen piped up as they reached the ground floor and proceeded to load into a black SUV.
"That's on a need to know basis. You will be given more information later." Rumlow told her sternly. He knew she wouldn't last past a couple of days, either he would kill her or HYDRA would have to. No one ever survived working so closely with the Winter Soldier, especially not a woman.
