Taylor closed the front door behind her with a heavy sigh. She could feel the weight on her shoulders lift almost immediately. She's been waiting to come home to you all day today, missing you from the moment she headed out for the busy day she knew lied ahead of her.

But she made it through and she's home now and all she wants now is you.

She dragged her feet after kicking off her shoes. She looked around for you but didn't see you anywhere downstairs. She slowly climbed the stairs as she called out your name and waited for you to yell back for her.

But you never did and she realized why when she finally reached your shared bedroom and stood in the doorway. Her heart practically melted at the sight of you curled up in bed with her sweater on and her blanket covering you.

Or, at least most of you. Because in your sleep, you tossed and turned and the blanket was now at your knees instead of your shoulders, where you originally tucked yourself into it.

Your lips were parted as soft breaths fell from them. You occasionally let out a soft sound as you'd toss and turn. But Taylor's heart only felt warmer than before as she found the sight too cute for words.

She tiptoed across the room to you so she wouldn't wake you. She sat down beside you and the mattress dipped under her, but you didn't wake up. You only sighed as she kissed your forehead lovingly and brushed her hand along your bare arm sweetly.

She looked at the clock and found it was nearing midnight. She was so worn out after her busy day that the idea of calling it a night and being able to lay down beside you, and maybe even cuddle you, brought her a rush of happiness.

She made her way into the bathroom, where she took off her makeup and quickly brushed her teeth. She came out a moment later and she couldn't help but chuckle a little when she saw that you hadn't moved even a finger while she was in there.

She changed out of her clothes and upon finding one of your favorite band tees that you threw on the floor mindlessly before you got too cold before bed, she picked it up and brought it over your head.

She was padding across the floor when a floorboard creaked under her feet. You lifted your head and stared over at her in confusion.

"Taylor?" You mumbled as you rubbed your eyes.

"Hey, baby. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." She spoke softly as she crawled into bed beside you. Instantly, she was smiling from ear to ear as you rolled over and into her arms, where you quickly laid your head on her chest.

"It's okay. I'm happy you're home."

"Me too. It was a long day."

"Oh?" You yawned and tried to keep your eyes open for her, but they were too heavy and you were just too tired to fight them when they closed. "Do you want to talk about it? It'll make you feel better."

"I'm feeling perfectly fine now that I'm home with my girl." She smiled and leaned down to brush her lips against the crown of your head, but you took her by surprise to lift your head and capture your lips with hers instead.

She sighed softly against your lips as she melted into you. She gently put her hand on your cheek and brushed her thumb in circles over your soft skin as you moved your lips in perfect sync with her own.

"I love you."

"I love you too, y/n." She whispered before pecking your lips, then pulled away and brushed them along your forehead and top of your head sweetly. "Have sweet dreams, my love."

"You too, Taylor," you yawned before you drifted off to sleep, leaving her with a smile on her face as she started to fall asleep, too.
