From the moment you open your eyes, a heavy feeling quickly starts to encapsulate your chest. You already feel as if something was about to go wrong. As if your day has already been ruined without it even starting yet.

And your instincts were completely accurate.

Your vision darts towards your bedside table, where your phone was, and you immediately gape at the numerous messages and calls that you have received from the past hour. All of them seemingly coming from your anxious student council members.

Just as you were about to jump off bed, another incoming call catches your attention. Before a couple of words could even make its way past your lips, you hear Jungwon's voice.

"Why aren't you here yet?" He says, voice laced with uneasiness. "Don't tell me you overslept."

You release a shaky breath, trying to get yourself to calm down. "I forgot to set an alarm yesterday, but I'll try to be there soon."

"Don't worry about it too much, [Y/N]. We already put up the decorations and have settled it with the caterers, you just have to get ready because the dance is starting in an hour or so." Jennie cuts in, trying her best to reassure your restless state.

The devil seems to be having a nice laugh because time seems to be passing by quickly every second. You quickly drop the call, hastily bidding farewell to them before you sprint towards your bathroom.

A few more long minutes pass, and by this time you have already finished wearing your dress and fixing your hair. All you have to do is to catch time, even though it's already a few meters ahead of you.

That's it, I'm late. Even if I try to run, that won't be able to change anything.

You hated a lot of things in life, but the most annoying thing for you was not being able to have a grasp on a situation. The lack of control and the uncertain outcome. It was the feeling you remember dreading the most.

It was more like you hated. . . being vulnerable? You didn't know how to describe it yourself.

Your thoughts were practically mush at this point, darting from different topics. I also didn't find a partner yet; this day certainly couldn't get any worse.

Upon nearing the school premises, you catch a certain teen dressed up in a suit, casually leaning his back further onto the school walls. And believe it or not, the jittery feeling in your chest slowly diminishes. Like a breath of sheer relief.

The apprehensive feeling thumping away at your chest feels lighter. It certainly hasn't fully subsided, but its weight almost feels as light as the air. And you couldn't believe how quickly your demeanor changed just after seeing him.

You promptly walk up to him, shooting a confused look. "What are you doing here, idiot?"

He turns his gaze to you, and his face morphs into a grimace. "The dance, loser. I'm your partner."
