"𝐓𝐖𝐈𝐆𝐒 𝐒𝐍𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐃 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 of a set of boots, the sound bouncing off the trees that stretched towards the dark sky. Leaves crunched as they were stepped on, and bushes rustled as serpents moved through them. Y/n scoffed and looked down, flicking yet another bug from her shirt. She groaned, letting her head fall back.

“Why’d they have to send me?” She mumbled to herself, before raising her head back up.

The barrier had been perfectly fine, and there were no holes in it. The cursed spirit had been identified as a Class 4, leaving it as the same class as a mere Fly Head. Ieiri said there was nothing off about the curse, and that it was just a normal curse. Y/n had wanted to leave it at that and just saw it somehow slipped past the barrier. It wasn’t uncommon. However, Yaga insisted that the area and perimeter be scouted for other curses and possible curse users camping nearby.

Since Y/n was able to sense anything with her serpents and Gojo was able to with his six eyes, they were dispatched to do it. They decided to split up to get it done faster and be able to return back sooner. Y/n was hungry, and she and Gojo were supposed to be getting katsudon or sushi after this. They still hadn’t decided.

She took her hands from her pockets and cracked her knuckles out of boredom, looking around her. She hadn’t seen anything, except for a few deer and squirrels. It was the only thing she had expected anyhow. What else had she been bound to find?

At the sound of a low growling, Y/n halted her steps. To her left. She turned her head in that direction, her sharp e/c hues meeting a pair of fierce yellow ones. The four-legged animal took a step forward, its body muscle moving with the action. Y/n felt a frown tug at the corner of her lips as she saw the wolf-like animal with patches of fur missing, revealing its flesh under. Blood matted the dark gray hairs, leaving darkened patches and a thick metallic smell in the air.

To a normal person, this would look like some kind of sickly, wounded wolf. But, Y/n knew it wasn’t. She could both see and feel the small amounts of cursed energy wafting from the animal. The wolf was already dead, from being attacked by a much larger animal it looked like. The body itself was only being animated by another’s cursed energy. Which meant someone else was here.

Y/n’s guard instantly rose as she scanned her eyes over the area, calling her serpents back towards her. She cursed herself for letting them wander so far ahead instead of there with her. While they could pick up on the smallest amounts of cursed energy, Y/n was only able to know above a certain level.

She wondered if Gojo had noticed it yet. She knew he was much sharper than she was. Could he have already picked up on the energy? Or was he too far back from reluctantly dragging his feet? She huffed out a sigh, turning in a slow circle as she looked around.

A nervous bead of sweat rolled down her face as she looked around uneasily. She was still able to see the reanimated wolf in the corner of her eye and wondered if it would do anything but stand there. And why weren’t her serpents here yet? They were far, but they weren’t that far. Shit, they didn’t get destroyed, did they?

As she raised her hands to summon more, the animal began to growl lowly before throwing its head up and howling loudly. Y/n was startled by this, making her falter for a moment. She heard something rustle behind her and quickly moved to turn. However, she only saw a glimpse of something dark before she felt something collide with the side of her head, making her vision go black, and her body to go numb as it hit the ground.

A figure stepped over her unconscious body, their gaze attentive to the thin line of blood dribbling down the side of Y/n’s face. He dropped into a crouched, his gloved hand reaching out to grab her face. He gripped her jaw and turned her head to look at him. A grin spread across his lips at the slack look on her face. He removed his hand, allowing her head to loll back to the side.

He took the cigarette from his lips, blowing the hefty puff of gray smoke into the air before flicking the butt away. He clicked his tongue, and a dark shadow rose from the wolf before receding back to his body. The animal fell to the ground with a thump and a stiff body. He leaned down and grabbed Y/n by her legs before lifting her, and throwing her over his shoulder.

“Whelp,” The man said, his voice deep and grainy. “Time to get you back to your husband. Such a disobedient wife, you are.”

She woke up with a start, her body jolting at the feeling of a hand caressing her face. Chains rattled loudly as she jerked away instinctively, her eyes shooting open as a gasp passed over her lips. She thrashed at feeling her arms behind her, restricted there. She snapped her neck up to her kidnapper. Her eyes widened.

He raised a hand as a greeting, giving her a warm smile with soft silver eyes. “Yo, Y/n-chan.”

She slowly processed his words, taking in his appearance. He chuckled, crouching down to her eye level on the ground. The chains shifted as she sat up, bringing her leg to her chest as she gazed at him in shock. She swallowed hard before looking around.

“A..are...we…?”

“You still remember!” He said happily, following her gaze around the room.

The sky-blue walls are lined with crayon marks and faded marker streaks. The ceiling was covered with dimly glowing yellow stars. There was a small bed in the corner of the room, lined with a blue blanket and stuffed animals. There were posters that were half-way hung on the wall, most of them of superheroes from American movies that Y/n knew all too well. She swallowed hard before purposely avoiding the dark stain in the middle of the room before looking back at the man.

“Do you remember painting this room with me?” He asked, his voice filled with nostalgia as he gazed down at her. “You were six weeks pregnant then, weren’t you?”

“What do you want from me?” She asked in a shaky voice.

“What?” He scoffed playfully, reaching out towards her. He ran a hand through her fallen hair, letting the h/c strands fall through his fingers. “Can I not see my beautiful wife again?”

“You’re pretty kinky if you like seeing me in chains,” She laughed, twisting her hips as she kicked her leg out quickly. The tip of her boot caught the corner of his jaw as he leaned back. She went to stand but stopped as the chain was seized and she was forcefully yanked back down to the ground. She winced as her shoulder hit the floor hard.

“You are such a bitch,” He hissed, rubbing his jaw as he pulled the chain, making her yelp as she was yanked to him. His hand shot out and curled around her throat, making her eyes narrow with a fierce glare. He saw her throat bob and shoved his thumb in her mouth, pressing down on her tongue. He forced her back to the ground, making her bite down on his thumb. He seemed unfazed by it and he gripped her jaw with a bruising grip.

“Don’t. Spit. At. Me,” He growled, taking his thumb from her mouth. She turned and spat, wiping her mouth on her arm. She glared at him through the fallen strands of her hair, making him grin.

“Get the fuck off me…”

“...Rokuro.”
