She looked over, raising her head from where it rested on her knees. She sat straighter as the black-haired man walked towards her.
“Oh, Geto,” She said, watching him sit beside her on the steps outside of the school. “I didn’t expect anyone else to be awake. And I’m fine, I suppose.”
“I just happened to see your door open,” He said. “You’ve been acting strangely since you came back. Is something bothering you?”
“It’s...nothing,” She said, turning to rest her chin back on her knees. She brushed her fingers along the top of her tennis shoes.
“I know when you’re lying, Y/n,” He chuckled. “If it’s something about Satoru, then it can stay between us.”
She looked at him in the corner of her eye. He smiled at her, a small dimple forming in his cheek. Y/n sighed a little before sitting back, letting her legs extend over the stairs.
“He’s avoiding me,” She said. “I...I think I really upset him.”
“Well, he did just sit back and watch the girl he loved to get married and have a kid, so, that’s pretty upsetting,” He said, shrugging.
“Jeez thanks, Geto, you make everything better!” She said sarcastically.
“But!” He added. “He’ll get over it. He’s not the type to stay with one woman anyways. He’ll have someone next week to put his focus on. You shouldn’t be so worried about it, Y/n.”
“But I am!” She huffed. “He was my best friend. We always hung out, we always told each other everything, we did everything together. Now, he won’t even look me in the eye.”
“Give him some time,” Geto said, placing a hand on her shoulder. “He’ll eventually come around.”
“I just hope it’s soon,” She sighed, falling back on the concrete. She stared up at the stars hanging above her head. “I miss my friend.”
“I heard you and Satoru got married,” Geto said, stepping back as Y/n advanced towards him.
“Kinda shitty timing for you to attack--” She said.
She threw the katana in the air, ducking under one of the humanoid curses. She grabbed it by the back of its neck and forced it to the ground, smashing its head on the platform. She grabbed another by the ankle and threw it into the approaching one. She stood up and caught the katana in her hand and thrust it behind her, impaling both curses.
