~Flashback~ (Y/N) put on her brightest smile when she entered the large doors of Hogwarts. Professor McGonagall greeted the students with a lecture about the Houses and rules. But (Y/N) didn't listen, for she was excited to learn and explore the wonders of witchcraft.
All of the first-years ran down the hallway into the Great Hall, where all of the upperclassmen will divide into four long tables that stretched across the room. And they were all waiting for the first years.
Professor McGonagall held up a long scroll as an old hat lay on a wooden stool next to her. One by one, the first-years got called up as tables from different directions started bursting with cheers and applause for the student who got called into their House.
(Y/N) smiled and crossed her fingers, hoping that McGonagall would call on her next. "(Y/N) (L/N)," McGonagall called her out in a stern voice that sounded like she wouldn't take it lightly.
(Y/N) practically ran up the steps and eagerly sat on the stool waiting for the Sorting Hat to be on her head. A slight feeling jerked on to (Y/N)'s head as the Sorting Hat began to speak.
"Ah! Another (L/N)? Just as I thought, you're just as ambitious as your parents. Better be... SLYTHERIN!" Slytherin House stood up with screams of excitement as they received another first-year into their House.
(Y/N) smiled and ran over to her seat while also shaking hands with a few second and third years. She smiled and waved at Severus, who sadly waved back due to the feeling that his best friend wasn't in the same house as him.
Large platters of food filled the long tables, along with loud gasps from the students. (Y/N) smiled and began to dig into her food. (Y/N) smiled as she dipped her fork into a piece of the pie. "Lucius, is that you over there pouting?"
(Y/N) recognized the blonde as Lucius Malfoy, who was sitting a few seats across from the right of her. "Ah, (L/N)... Congratulations on getting into Slytherin. I already notified my family of your arrival."
Lucius spoke in a proud voice, which made the other Slytherin sitting next to him roll their eyes. The other Purebloods that were sitting next to him smirked along with him. "Of course you did."
Lucius was about five years above (Y/N) at Hogwarts. They haven't been entirely close like their parents, but they still meet up with each other once in a while to catch up on some things.
"What are your plans later on? You are graduating after next year, aren't you?" Lucius nodded his head and winked at the young girl. (Y/N) playfully rolled her eyes and continued eating.
Lucius cleared his throat and starred at (Y/N). He knew what kind of trouble her father was in for later. He wanted to tell her so badly, but he couldn't. "Well, I wish you good luck and years to come. You're going to need it."
(Y/N) smirked and made eye contact with the blonde. "I don't think I need luck, but thank you."
~flashback ends~
The headmaster sighed before walking into the back room on the third floor. He stood in the doorway, finding the potions' teacher towering over the glass coffin. "Back here again, are we, Severus?" Dumbledore frowned at the sight of his former student.
"It would appear so," Snape said as he never took his eyes off the woman as he placed another rose on the table next to her. The girl, once known as (Y/N) (L/N), had been put under an unbreakable sleeping spell right after she had graduated from Hogwarts.
When the news broke, Snape was devastated... He never admitted it, but he built a strong attachment towards (Y/N) since they've met on that day. Snape was happy to have her as a friend. He felt a different connection with her than Lily.
When he found out that James and Lily had started dating, (Y/N) was the only one there for him, and now she's gone. Dumbledore called it a miracle that (Y/N) was still alive. Not to mention, she had safely grown into an adult without waking up.
Her flowing (h/c) had grown to her feet. Her eyes were tight shut, as well as her hands were folded entirely into a comfortable position. "It's been fourteen years already, you know." Dumbledore traced the golden frame on the glass coffin as he stared down at the woman.
"So I've heard it..." Snape had also not given up hope. Every day he would waste his free time finding a cure, and he has never stopped. He's already lost, Lily. He wasn't going to lose you, too.
"Come, Severus..... The first-year students will soon be arriving." Dumbledore pulled Snape along as they locked the door on the way out. "Don't worry," Dumbledore said. "(Y/N) (L/N) is a strong witch. She has always been."
"I'm aware, and I have not given up on her." Snape felt determined to bring you back. No matter how long it was going to take. Dumbledore patted Snape on the back before joining the other teachers and staff.
Snape looked back at the door as he could already hear your laugh. You're a tough and gentle person. He hasn't forgotten about how much of a goddess you were whenever you walked the great halls of Hogwarts.
Dumbledore had not forgotten as well. He was very aware of how tough you could be around people you didn't like. He left that because he knew your strong spirit made Hogwarts a safer place.
He even remembered during (Y/N)'s final year that she had grown out of her authoritarian personality and started becoming an idol to witches and wizards. People soon felt the same emotions as Snape.
Even for Slytherin, (Y/N) never stopped having a good heart. She'd never stopped being that kind-hearted glow that brightens up everyone's day. If anything else were to happen to you, Snape would always be there.
