~Flashback~
"I got it!" The third-years' laughter filled the Courtyard as they were with baseball that a Muggle-born got from home. "That's yours, man!" A Hufflepuff called out as they watched the baseball flew towards a Gryffindor.

The ball flew towards the front of his face but hasn't touched him yet, because someone appeared in front of him holding a bat. They hit the ball hard and sent it flying over the wall.

"Are you okay? That ball almost hit you." The students stared at (Y/N) with gaping mouths. Almost as if they had seen "You-know-who." (Y/N) checked for any injury on the Gryffindor before they spoke again.

"Uh, yeah. I'm fine, thank you.?" The Gryffindor stepped back by (Y/N)'s sudden appearance. They were mainly startled because (Y/N) was a Slytherin. Slytherin House isn't known for being the nicest.

"Sorry about your ball. Do you want me to fetch it?" The Hufflepuff shook his head and smiled. "No sweat. We've got plenty in my bag. That was a cool swing, though." (Y/N) smiled back and started up a conversation with Hufflepuff and Gryffindor.

"Are you sure you're a "Slytherin?" Not many Slytherin help out except for themselves." (Y/N) winced for being a bit taken back by those words. But she would never let something like words bother her.

"I can assure you that I am Slytherin. All Houses are more than just what the Sorting Hat says they are. We are far beyond than just being brave, or loyal, or intelligent, you know."

"So, what people said about Slytherin isn't true at all?" (Y/N) shrugged her shoulders and continued speaking, "I guess people sometimes forget who we really are and just see us as what they've heard from; others."

The students looked at each other with their faces down in sorrow. "S-Sorry..." (Y/N) smirk and waved her hand over. "It's not a bother. We all have our differences." Professor Slughorn, the Head of Slytherin House, had witnessed their whole conversation.

He smiled a little and walked over to the third-years. "Miss (L/N), a moment, if you please?" Slughorn gave a very stern look at the students. More like a death glare, which made the students run off back to their dorms.

"Of course not. What do you wish to discuss, Professor?" Slughorn couldn't help but smile at the young teenager. He was astonished and very well grateful for being gifted with a student in Slytherin House that can influence others.

"I saw that swing of yours just about a moment ago, and I was wondering if you are willing to try out for the Quidditch team?" (Y/N) widened her eyes but kept silent. She didn't know what to say.

"Um, I don't know, Professor... I'm not sure that I would make a good Beater." Slughorn stopped in his tracks and grabbed (Y/N) by the shoulders. "You are fit to be a Quidditch player, just like you are fit to be a Slytherin."

(Y/N) blushed and kicked a small stone against the wall. "I suppose that it wouldn't hurt to try, right?" Slughorn smirked and pushed (Y/N) along. "I shall make arrangements with the captain right away."

(Y/N) rolled her eyes and made her way to her class. But a particular black hair had been watching the whole scene. He scoffed at the girl's kind behavior and walked to his next class.

~flashback ends~

"Severus, please come back. We're going to be late for our evening feast!" Professor McGonagall chased the Potions teacher down the corridors of the castle. She knew perfectly well where he was going.

"I'm afraid that dinner will have to wait, Minerva. I may have just found the counterspell to fix her!" Snape didn't waste any time and dashed down the hallway towards the room your body was lying in.

His footsteps soon came to stop when he spotted Mr. Filch and Professor Dumbledore standing in the doorway. "I'm sorry, Severus... But I am afraid that I cannot let you through this time."

Snape's face dropped back to his original expression when Dumbledore stopped him from getting through the doorway. He looked even more depressed than usual. "Might I ask why?"

Filch and Dumbledore looked at each other before speaking. "Severus, we are concerned for you. You have been at this for fourteen years. This is why Filch had suggested that we should take (Y/N) into the care of the Ministry of Magic."

Snape was speechless. He did not want you to be in the care of a crowded business full of strangers that look like they know what they are doing. "I'm sorry, Severus, but the deed has been done. The Ministry is coming to pick her up by the end of the week."

Snape looked down at the flowers hidden in his robes and looked back up at the teachers. "May I at least deliver these to her coffin, Headmaster?" Snape's gaze never left the bouquet as he was falling desperate to see you.

"Of course, but I hope you don't mind if Mrs. Norris joined you." Mr. Filch smirked as his cat appeared from under his feet. Snape threw a disgusted look at the cat and walked past Filch and Dumbledore through the doorway.

Mrs. Norris couldn't help but snuggle up against Snape's robes. "Get off me, you silly cat." Snape walked a bit faster and made it to the room your body was lying in. "It feels just like yesterday you were standing by my side..."

Mrs. Norris jumped onto the table next to (Y/N)'s coffin and meowed. "I wish I didn't have to see you go, (Y/N). I need you here." Snape traced his fingers over the glass and watched (Y/N) sleep peacefully.

He felt like crying, but he didn't... He felt sadness in his heart and deep down in his soul. You were all he had left, and he had to see you go. Of course, he could always find a way to visit you at the Ministry of Magic, but that would mean he'd be further apart from you.

"Take care, Ms. (L/N)." Snape placed the bouquet in a glass vase and walked out with Mrs. Norris. He looked back at you one last time before shutting the door. "Wake up...please."
