Chapter 6

He tried to lung toward the duo. Basil acted fast enough and pushed him back with her powers, far enough for her and Pepper to get a slight head start. They ran like hell, out of the lab yelling at other agents to leave as well. Basil was 1 too scared to even think about even using her powers and 2 not wanting to expose herself to Obi just in case he comes to power and outs her. They finally get outside but are stopped by Obi in his suit crawling out of the ground. He grabbed both Pepper and Basil because he can hear the hum of Tony's suit coming close.

Tony comes in and distracts Obi just long enough for Basil and Pepper to escape his grasp. Tony and Obi fly off and start fighting. Pepper and Basil stood, looking up at the 2 metal men fight in the sky. The bigger of the 2 starts falling and Peppers phone starts to ring. The name of the caller shocked both women. Tony Stark. She hastily picked up and started to talk to him. Basil kept her eyes to the sky watching as the bigger suit came back and tackled the red on to the roof of the labs.

They fought and fought, well what Obi thought was fighting but Tony was distracting him as Pepper and Basil started the overload of the reactor. Just as it was almost ready Tony came crashing through the ceiling, hanging on to the frame with all his might. Obi kept firing and missing whine the reactor was fully loaded.

"Dad get of the roof!"

"Push the button"

"But you'll die"

"Basil push the button!"

Basil was torn. She didn't want to hurt her father but she also didn't want Obi to win. So she made up her mind.

She pushed it.

She grabbed Peppers hand and ran out of the building. They watched as the reactor exploded and heard the screams of Obadiah Stain. Basil wished so much that she could use her powers and lift herself to the roof. She ran over all the broken glass and to the stairs to the roof. She flung the doors open and scanned for her dad. Her eyes fell on a red suit laying still on the ground. No, no, no he can't be dead! He can't be dead! She didn't even realize that she had tears running down her face ams she raced to the heap of red metal.

She turned him over and then she heard it.

"Uggggggggggggg I feel like I've been hit by a bus"

Basil pulled her dad into the biggest hug. Crying. Laughing. All the emotions flowed through her right now.

"It's ok my flower, I'm here I'm not going anywhere"

With those words she buried her head deeper into his neck and cried even harder. They sat on that roof for what felt like hours. Finally she lifter her head and helped her dad up. She supported him with her arms which wasn't very hard because of her super human strength. She led him down the stairs and outside the building. Pepper came running over and embraced both of them in a big hug. After they all released from the hug, Basil brought her dad over to the paramedics to get checked out. Even tho he kept on saying he's fine, she brought him over anyway.

He got cleared with a couple bandages, plastic stitches, and an arm sling which he very much protested. Basil got him into the car and drove home.

They were sitting "backstage" to the press conference S.H.I.E.L.D. has set up. Basil bid her father good luck and went out to go meet Rhody. They chatted till he was beckoned up to stage to present her father.

Tony walked up on stage and Basil kinda tuned out his speech, knowing that it would be along the lines of "a body guard in a metal suit fought off a threat of another man in a metal suit, causing the arc reactor to explode and destroy the Stark Industry labs. There would be no mention of Obi but just later on they would announce that he was in some sort of crash or something. And Tony's alibi would be on the lines of him being out of the country."

That was until she saw her dad whisper to himself about something being wonderful.

Then she heard it. The 4 words that would change the Stark's lives even more than they already are.

"I am Iron Man"
