Dib stared at the pile of dust that was once someone he knew very well before him. He didn't know what to do... he couldn't do anything. He was dead. Dead. ZiM was dead. He had killed him. Just like he had killed everyone else.
One of the two people he wanted to protect, and he couldn't even do that right.
Shit. Shit. No. No.
He had known ZiM for over six whole years now. They had been fighting, friends, closer than anyone for the whole time. And now, he was gone. He couldn't handle it. He couldn't. It was his fault. His best friend was dead, and he killed him.
He had to get rid of him, he had to get rid of Pilot.
Tears were streaming down his face, and all Dib could do in the time he was frozen in place was put his head in his hands, letting the drops just fall to the ground, fall into the dust. So many terrible things happened. They were all his fault.
Dib just wanted to save the world. He just wanted to get a girlfriend. Did it really have to lead to this?
"Oh. Oh,"
A voice in his head called.
"Isn't this amusing?"
"...huh?" Dib shot up, his face going pale, and his stomach plummeting.
"Oh, ohhh, it's so fun, so, so fun! Look at me! I can talk to you!"
Ghost stood up, gripping to his jacket. "...no, no, you can't. You can't be around at the same time as me, that's... y-you're not me. You're not me at all. I'm going crazy, that's.. exactly what's happened... I just have to go, and you'll be away from me... I don't have all the correct chemicals myself, but maybe ZiM.."
Pilot just laughed. "Do you really think that I'd ever set you free? You literally can't get away from me, Ghost; I'm a part of you!"
"ALL that you are, is a voice in my head! One that I can get rid of!" Ghost yelled, the tears continuing to fall. "You'll disappear! I'll never have to be you AGAIN!" He jumped up, running towards the elevator down to ZiM's lab.
However, before he could reach the platform, something like invisible hands pulled him back to the ground."You will never get away from me, Ghost," Pilot's tone was low and dark, and a lot less smooth than usual. As if he no longer had anything left to hyde. "How can you even get down there if I'm gaining more control? Soon enough, I can overtake you in your entirety! You lost, Ghost! It's just fun to see your last few minutes of mindless struggling!"
Ghost's heart was growing more rapid with each word Pilot said. In his mind, it was almost like he could see Pilot right in front of him, and to him, he was absolutely disgusting. He couldn't let Pilot win, he couldn't let him use his body for the shit he's been getting away with. "If I die before I can get the antidote, I know you'll be gone.
Pilot's voice stopped for a second, like he was thrown off guard. "...then I guess that will be a problem, for you," he sounded grim. "Since there is no antidote. I made sure last night that any chemical that could be used to get rid of me was out of this shithole."
"...no, no, you couldn't have known what's needed. I never wrote it down, I never told anyone, I—"
"I AM YOU! WE SHARE THE SAME THOUGHTS, GHOST! When will you learn that we are ONE?!"
