Max took a deep breath and knocked on the door. He was not sure how the doctor would react, especially after the stunt he had pulled just a few hours back. He felt like a heel that he had behaved like some uncouth jerk, yelling and hitting his elder brother in the middle of the road. But even worst was the way he had treated Tul.

He knew Tul had just been concerned about his health, same like Great. But there were some things which just got to him and triggered his short temper.

He hoped the doctor was not very angry and would not completely cut him off.

Just as he went over in his mind the little apology speech which he had spent the better part of the evening preparing, Tul opened the door.

The man was still wearing the trousers he had worn to work, and his shirt was hanging loose, unbuttoned. Giving Max the perfect view of well-toned chest muscles and pert male nipples. The sight brought back memories of muscular thighs which he had fantasized wrapped around him not that long ago and made him forget the speech he had prepared.

Tul just stood framed in the doorway, looking at Max coolly.

"I... Umm... I wanted to... I got you food." Max finally blurted, holding up the bag of food and flashing his best smile at Tul.

The moment Tul had heard the knock he knew it had to be Max. Without sparing a second thought to his state of undress he had rushed to open the door.

All day and even on his way from the hospital, in Max's car, he had lectured himself and listed out all the reasons why he should avoid Max and stay far away from him just like his brother had suggested.

And yet seeing him standing there flashing his impish smile, all the well-intentioned resolve to avoid the man, flew right out of the window.

He couldn't understand why it felt like a rock had been taken of his shoulders at the sight of his smiling neighbor. Can you really care about someone you have met just 2 days back? Tul wondered. But care or not he did feel something about this man standing there holding a bag of food.

"Look the food is from the restaurant, and I had it delivered. I was at home all evening and I rested just as you had told me to." Max was now talking in earnest tones.
