“She is not waking up” Astrid heard a familiar voice over her
“Is she dead?” Another familiar voice replied “You know from the panacea, maybe it doesn't work on humans”
A smack and an ouch, she heard. “She’s breathing idiot”
“I’m alive, I'm just not awake” Astrid’s voice was hoarse and very low
“Oh hey!” Astrid opened her eyes slowly looking up at Tom and Jerry
Not only that it is their names but also they reminded her of the characters. They are always together and always bother each other but if one is missing they wont survive and life wont be wont be the same. They simply complete each other.
“Can I have water please?” She started to sit up and Tom helped her “Hey aren't you supposed to be ‘punished’?”
Jeremy handed her a warm water bottle
“I know right? Basileus didn't even talk to him after he left”
Astrid’s heart warmed towards Kaden
“Kaden didn't do anything?” She said as she gulped half of the water bottle in her hand
“Dammit Astrid quit calling him Kaden!” Tom snapped
“Why?” Her mind flashed back to the previous event when she called his name and the people in the room glared at her monstrously
“Because it is so disrespectful to call him by his first name” Jeremy explained not looking as worked up as Thomas
“Anyway we are here to sneak you out” Tom tried to avoid her gaze “It is the only way I can repay you”
She looked at the boys next to the bed and her action surprised them
She jumped and hugged their waist tightly
Jerry gladly hugged back while Tom hesitated but returned the action
“Thank you” She managed to say as she pulled away
“Astrid finally!” Her head snapped to the voice she's been hearing for 14 years
She couldn't believe it
Tom, in faster than a blink, was holding Dylan’s throat with his claws out
“HEY!” Astrid yelled “Don't hurt him”
Jeremy pointed at Dylan “You know him?” Looking puzzled
“She’s my best friend” Dylan tried to get out of his attackers grip
“You’re one of them?” She asked in disbelief
‘How can he do this?’ After all this time they’ve known each other he didn't bother tell her
“C’mon Tiara” He used the nickname he gave her years back “How do you except me to explain this” As he pointed at his face, it began to change, veins coming out and then his appearance changed into a sheep, just not as innocent, more furious.
“Oh My God” She turned around so no one could see her tears forming and falling before she could stop them.
Someone’s hands wrapped around her
She began sobbing, turned around and hugged Dylan
“I just want to go back”
“Hey, listen” Dylan cupped her cheeks and made her look at him “I’m here to get you out, we need to hurry because if I’m found here I'm screwed”
She never thought she’d see him act mature but life is full of surprises
Astrid nodded
No matter what he was she couldn't not trust him
“Ah! So three thi̱ríos in Aloritopia are helping poor little human” His voice was so loud but Astrid couldn't help but relax “Didn’t we learn better?”
“Yeah definitely screwed” Dylan muttered and looked away
“Why the tears Tiara was it?” Astrid wondered how long has he been here “You don’t want to stay her? Well dear let me tell you, accept it because here is where you’re staying”
“Well, listen here Mister, You,” She walked to him and poked his chest making Kaden look at her finger with disgust “Are not the boss of my ass. I don't care if you’re a king, or whatever you don't just take me away from my home and except me to live normally in one of your damn dirty prisons, so take me back or else!” Everyone in the room was surprised by her outburst
Thomas was growling audibly while Jeremy and Dylan looked at the ground
Kaden smirked devilishly “Or else what?”
No one saw it coming
Astrid rose to her tiptoes, cupped Kaden’s cheek and pressed her lips to his
One second, he didn't pull away
She was shocked by her act
Two seconds, he didn't pull away
She liked that he didn't pull back
Three seconds, he didn't pull away
She was enjoying it
Four seconds, she pulled away
She realized what she was doing
No one in the room knew how to react and Kaden’s face was emotionless. No signs of anger, disgust, hatred, nothing.
Astrid didn’t want him to sense that she didn't know she did it and enjoy it so she made a scenario of her own
“You kissed a human” She looked at him fiercely “now your consequence is to get me out of here and never again bother me” He didn't react, yet.
“And there are witnesses” She added and pointed back at the three boys in the room
“If I let you go, I’ll take him” He pointed at Dylan
