ᕮclipse ~ Bankotsu Love Story ~ Chapter 12: Nothing Lasts Forever
Unknown of the battle between his son and his guests'...escort, Gin Kurota stared at the small frame of his precious spouse from at least nineteen years ago. Two fat green candles were on each side of the picture frame in the small shrine in a small room with nothing else in it. A bowl of colourful sweets and a small dish of burning oil accompanied the candles. A young woman with deep brown hair, falling down her shoulders and plain brown eyes, thick eyelashes and pale skin. She was smiling faintly towards the viewer, which caused the corners of Gin's lips to curve up towards his ears. His wife never failed to put that exact smile on his face. He had asked for a painting of his wife one day, but Jurii wouldn't approve of it. She never had much time to live, let alone have optimism in the future.
He was smart enough to sense the massacre and destruction around his palace, smell the blood and smoke and hear the screams and collapse of wood and foil. He saw this coming. Everything from the moment he woke up this morning.
“Jurii,” he began. “I believe I now know why I'm still here.”
Next thing he did, he closed the shrine and left the room, calling for one of the last living guards he saw timid looking in the corner.

You yelped rather loudly as a sharp feeling stabbed through the area above your left eyebrow, rather deeply but nowhere near your brain. That is going to take some time to heal. You lost half your senses and stumbled backwards. The edge of Takuya's sword slid out from your skin, back to his ankle.
“Yozora!”
“Jakotsu, I told you don't cheer me!”
“You're losing though.”
“I...never...lose!!”
A few small cuts could be seen on the sides of your side, nothing major but with the lack of space, you were getting many bruises of various shades on your pale skin, where the sleeves of your sleeping kimono are folded.
“You're not giving up, are you?”
You scoffed as you gained your weight by holding onto Katsura which was dug in lightly into the hard ground. You haven't actually seen the speciality of the sword yet, but so far, it was protecting your life fairly well.
“I don't lose, especially to the likes of you.”
“Says Miss Escort.” Takuya replied with the smirk he gave you earlier when he brought you to his room.
“Sweetie, you have it right again.”
“Don't flirt with him! We own you!” you hear Jakotsu yell from the side. You pulsed a vein on your temple.
“Calling someone 'sweetie' is not flirting, sweetie.” you reply calmly as your left eye twitched.
. . . . .
“Don't get distracted!”
Startled, you pointed Katsura towards the direction you heard Takuya from, only to be pushed back from a strong force of light which shot towards him. Imagine yourself trying to shoot a large rifle, but because of the heavy bullets, the force that the bullets push towards you is so strong you are pulled back from the distance between yourself and the bullet. If that's too complicating, turn to Monsters vs Aliens.
As Suikotsu caught you, you gawked at the thick smoke before you. You grabbed Suikotsu's hand which held you on the waist, shoving it off gently and stepping forward.
“What just happened?”
Jakotsu stared at the mist coming off from the blade of your sword.
“Looks like we just found out the first secret of Katsura.” he grinned, sending a thumbs up towards your direction. The smoke faded, revealing Takuya lying inbetween broken pale wood that appears to be from the meeting room of the palace. Takuya struggled to sit up but he managed, holding his weight by his sword.
