Your POV
The Chasm.
Honestly, it doesn't sound that bad.
I feel pretty great if I'm being honest. I just have to return this Gnosis and then, hopefully,
I can go home...
My thoughts are interrupted as Chongyun begins to speak.
"You're going to need an escort Y/n. It's going to be a difficult journey. I estimate that it will be about a week's worth of travel from here in the Harbor."
I run my fingers through my hair.
"Have any recommendations so I can start my travels?" I question.
Both of them look at each other before turning their attention to me.
"Look, Y/n," Xingqiu starts. "Very few people travel to the Chasm. It's practically a no man's land. Not only are you going to need help from an escort, but also the basics of fighting. Finding someone who is willing and capable of doing both is going to be trying."
He pauses and Chongyun takes over.
"In the meantime, you should get a room at Wangshu Inn." He hands me a map of Liyue.
"If you ever need anything, I'll be here in the Harbor. So will Xingqiu."
I nod in thanks before following the newly received map.
"Ok... so if I can reach this teleportation point... yeah... ok... I should be fine..." I mumble, talking to myself.
After about 15 minutes of walking through grassy hills and trees, I see a teleportation point in my direction.
"Hmmmmm, Y/n. That is most certainly not a name I've come across before."
I flinch slightly and pivot my body just enough to see who's talking to me.
A ginger-haired male sits in a tree left to me. He is wearing grey clothing with slight accents of red here and there.
"Who are you?" I say. I try to sound intimidating but my voice betrays me and my threat comes out as a squeak.
"My name is Childe."
"Ok, Childe. What do you want?"
Childe's POV
I have to restrain myself from smiling as fear is written clearly over her face.
"I heard you need a trainer and so, being a chivalrous man of battle, I would like to volunteer my abilities," I smirk at the half-lie.
I am interested and willing enough to train her but it's not the fighting I am interested in.
It's the Gnosis she wears around her neck. And I'll kill her for it if I have to.
Your POV
I don't think I can trust him. I barely know him anyways. It's not worth the risk. If he knows that I needed a trainer, he must have been listening in on my conversation with Chongyun and Xingiu.
"I apologize, but I have already found a trainer. Your offer is generous but I have to decline." I lie. Turning to walk away, I hear him speak much more threateningly.
"Then I guess you shouldn't have a problem defending yourself from me if you've been 'training'."
I see him plunge down from the tree and summon a blade-like bow. I shriek in utter shock and put my hands up to block me.
I prepare myself to feel immense pain but it never comes.
I realize that I have become surrounded by a sphere of green. I made a shield.
"A dendro vision? Hm, how interesting. Let's see how long you'll last."
So the green thing on my waist is a dendro vision? What even is a vision-
I scream again as he hits my shield with a blade of water. I can feel the shield draining my energy but I can't stop now.
He slices away at the green film standing between myself and him; the impact becoming greater with each hit.
I feel nauseous, sickened suddenly.
Pull back your shield, now.
A baritone voice demands in my head. I ignore it completely and watch as Childe smiles and pulls his bow back completely. The water around it moving more violently than before.
Do it. NOW.
I inhale deeply before releasing my hold on the dendro. I see flashes of water about to come down on me.
Instead of feeling water and blood seep around me, all I feel is the heat and warmth of someone's arms.
