Your POV
I don't realize that I am crying until I feel a large teardrop find its way down my cheek.
"Uh- are you fine...?"
I clear away the glassiness of my eyes and look at the man who saved me.
He has deep emerald hair with flaring amber eyes. His hair looks tussled slightly around his neck. His complexion is pale which really makes the coloring of his eyes and hair stand out. His arms wrapped around my shoulders.
"Y-yes... I just need a minute," the words barely making their way out of my throat.
He lets go of me and I sit down placing my head between my knees.
I take in a few gulps of air while small tears dribble down my face. Hastily, I scrub them away with the back of my hand. I never thought I would that close to death.
I'm alive though, because of him.
"Thank you for saving me back there...?" I pause realizing that I don't know his name.
"Xiao." He says his name in a much colder tone with a hint of huskiness to it.
Crossing his arms, he asks "What is your name mortal?"
"Y/n L/n"
"Well, I advise you to arm yourself in the future to avoid using your vision. You appear much too unaccustomed to the toll it takes on your enegery. Mortals cannot afford to fall weak during a battle such as the one you experienced."
I just nod in acknowledgment.
Xiao sighs. "Go to Wangshu Inn. I don't have time for inconsequential matters."
He turns away from me until I speak up
"Wait! Please!"
"What is it mortal?"
I cringe away at the toning of his voice. "I don't have any money to pay with for the Inn."
"Do you mean mora?
So that's the currency for this place? Huh...
Are you expecting me to pay for you?" he counters in a very harsh voice.
"N-no... I was going to ask if you could take me back to Liyue Harbor. I know someone there who could help me instead..."
He just stands there, frowning.
Does he really think that I'd be selfish enough to actually make him pay for a room after he just saved my life?
Xiao POV
I thought she was going to be a needy and very dependent person. Clearly, I'm half-wrong. I'm rather puzzled
She already journeyed out here so there's no point in sending her back to the place she came from...
"No need." I walk up to her and place an arm around her shoulder. I feel my anemo energy take me from our current location to a minimalistic room in Wangshu Inn.
"The owner of the Inn, Verr Goldet, is an acquaintance of mine. She has given me the privilege of coming and going as I please." I turn to look at the dendro user.
Y/n stands by the foot of an ivory-clothed bed as I slowly distance myself from her.
"If you do manage to trap yourself in a deadly predicament, say my name."
I let my anemo vision swirl around me once again as I teleport away from her.
All I know is that her selflessness is now holding me hostage. I feel obliged to keep her safe. I have not met someone, well-inetentioned, like her in a while. She contradicts the boundaries between Adpeti and mortals. I should not go anywhere near her. I already know this. Yet,
It's the one thing I want to do most
