After a draining weekend filled with tutoring, stress eating, and restless nights, the day I was training for had finally arrived:
The UA Sports Festival.
The weekend had been rough due to Bakugou's lack of restraint during our 1 v 1 training and my body was still aching viciously. Each of his explosions were aimed at my limbs and every so often I wouldn't be fast enough to move out of the way. Some of his contact hits burned, but ultimately, we called it a tie in the end, considering he was practically blinded by my quirk. In all seriousness, I really appreciated his willingness to stand in for Mina. I needed that training session and if I'm being honest, no one would've been able to push me to my fullest like Katsuki, but I'd never let him know that.
I was an eager mess by the time I woke up. My hands shook as I brushed my teeth and my heart rang so loudly in my ears, I was sure everyone in the neighborhood could hear it too. Lastly, I had thrown on my UA gym uniform. Personally, I wish they would make us wear gym shorts instead of pants, but apparently modesty trumps movement.
Zipping up the vest, I take one last look in the mirror. My messy, (h/c) hair was tied back in a loose ponytail and the bags under my eyes were starting to show. Of course, I looked awful, but I wasn't there to be pretty. I was there to be in the top 5.
"(Y/n)!" My mom shouted from downstairs.
I could smell the burnt breakfast she was trying to make for me, but I didn't have the heart to tell her that I was just going to grab a protein shake. I'd rather not upchuck charcoal if I was hit in the stomach by a student's attack.
"I'm coming, I'm coming," I say, throwing on my shoes and scrambling downstairs to meet her, training bag in hand.
"The food," I begin, looking around the kitchen in awe. It was covered in so much smoke, I'm surprised the smoke alarm didn't go off.
My mom smiles warily while chuckling, "Ha, how about we get breakfast on the way, instead?" She fans the smoke out of her vision and begins to grab her car keys.
"Momma, I'll just grab a protein shake. Really, that's all I want." I said sheepishly, grabbing my drink and then heading out the door.

When I arrived at school, the whole campus was already packed with reporters, civilians, students, and...
Pro Heroes?
Holy fuck, they weren't kidding when they said they were gonna up the security during the festival. I guess that's what you'd expect though, after getting attacked at the USJ.
It also made sense that Pro Heroes were here. I mean, they'd be watching us... they'd be watching me. This was just another reminder that depending on how well I did during the Sports Festival, it would affect how many intern offers I would receive. And I planned on getting a lot.
I walk into the arena, keeping my head low from reporters and other students that would bombard me with "USJ Attack" questions. I'm immediately directed to a room inside the arena, where I see all of my fellow classmates, sitting, worrying, and waiting. I glance over at Bakugou, seeing that his eyes were already on me. I immediately look away, I can't be getting distracted today. Especially not by a certain spikey-haired blonde.
"(Y/n)," Uraraka waved me over to the table she was sitting at. "Come 'ere!"
I through my stuff into one of the many lockers and shuffle my way over to her table, sizing up the other classmates in the arena's back room. Midoriya was muttering to himself like always and Kirishima was practically glued to Bakugou's hip. How cute...
