Y/N's POV

By the time I got home, my mom was in the living room, watching the news. "Mom? Why're you home so early?" I asked, grabbing a snack from the kitchen.
"Hello to you too." She smiled, standing up and turning off the TV. "I got off of work early." She explained. She walked over to me in the kitchen and started to brush through my hair with her fingers. "How was school?" She asked, looking at my face.
"It was fine. An alarm went off during lunch because a fucking reported got onto school grounds."
My mom frowned. "Sorry- language." I recited to her.
Her smile returned, "Sounds like an eventful day." She said.
"Speaking of eventful-" I began, going over to kiss my mom's head. "My friend is having a little get together next Sunday."
My mom looked at me and sighed. "Who all is going to be there?" She asked.
"Class 1-A." I respond.
"Will this supposed friend's parents be there?"
"Yes, mom."
"When is it again?"
I rolled my eyes. I can't stand when she interrogates me. She usually isn't like this; she's usually more lenient and carefree when it comes to me and my friends. Especially after, well, ya know. I guess today is just off for her?
"Next Sunday afternoon." I reply, while grabbing a water out of the refrigerator.
"Fine, you can go. But no sleeping over, it's a school night." She said, narrowing her eyes.
"Thank you, momma!" I say, giving her a hug.
She puts her chin on top of my head and rubs my back. "I love you so much, (Y/n). You know that?"
Okay, now I definitely know today is an off day for her.
"I know, mom. I love you too."
I give her a tight squeeze and grab my bag to go upstairs. I really need to start on my homework.

***

I forgot to set my alarm last night, so I woke up later than expected. Actually, I woke up a lot later than expected. When I woke up, school was going to start in 15 minutes.
I scrambled out of bed, brushing my teeth and barely throwing on my uniform correctly. I rushed downstairs, yelling "BYE!" to my mom and threw myself out of the door before she could respond.
As I jogged down the sidewalk, I brushed through my (h/c) hair with my hands. I forgot to bring a hair tie, so I couldn't put it in a messy bun.
"I guess I'll just have to deal with it today." I mumble to myself, frustrated that I messed up so bad.
The buttons on my white shirt didn't match up, so it looked weird. My skirt wasn't zipped up all the way. One of my socks were pulled up, while the other rested around my ankle. And my tie. My tie! Shit, I forgot to grab it on my way out. I know I went without it that one time, but the same day I got a dress code warning. I'm totally gonna get in trouble now.
I sigh, pulling up my other sock and zipping up my skirt all the way. Of course I couldn't fix my shirt, I was in public, walking on the side of the street.
A car pulled up next to me and stopped. For a split second. Thought I was going to get kidnapped. My breathe hitched. My palms grew sweaty. But when the driver rolled down their window, a woman who looked a lot like Midoriya gave me a smile.
"Excuse me," The lady asked. "Are you on your way to UA?"
I looked down at my messy uniform and looked back up at the lady.
"I guess it looks that way." I said, scratching my head.
The back window rolled down to reveal Midoriya.
"Hi, (Y/n)! Running late too?" He asked, giving me an embarrassed smile.
"You have no idea." I stressfully chuckled.
"Do you want a ride, dear?" Midoriya's mom asked, tilting her head.
I was going to say no. Thank her for asking, but then politely decline. But when I saw that I had 7 minutes to get to school, my answer quickly changed.
"Thank you so much!" I exclaimed as I opened the backseat car door. I sat down on the leather and buckled up, giving Midoriya a thankful smile.
I looked at Midoriya's mom and said, "You have no idea how much you saved my life."
"It was no trouble at all, sweetie." Her eyes softened. "We were just driving to school when Izuku pointed out that you were his classmate."
I look over at Midoriya who was sitting next to me in the back.
"Thank you, Midoriya." I say.
His face immediately turned a bright red and he started stuttering.
"I-it really w-wasn't a p-problem!" He held his hands up humbly.
I smiled at him one last time and then looked out the window.
