The Scouts had arrived back into Trost and Madison stood in the crowd next to Eren and Armin, looking for a particular person among the green cloaks. Seeing that the Scouts didn't have any dead bodies this time had Madison in high spirits about her decision on the Scouts Regiment.

It's been five years since she saw some serious damage inflicted upon them and she was ready to avenge those fallen soldiers by devoting her own life.

"Look! It's Captain Levi!" I heard Marco call out, pointing to the stoic man sitting high on his horse, not really paying attention to the crowd. However, upon hearing Marco's statement, he turned his head towards the cadet's direction and was met by the faces of Madison, Eren, Armin, and a couple of other cadets in the crowd.

Madison waved slightly when making eye contact and the man held his natural bored face. But she was shocked when the man gave her a small smile and nodded his head in respect before turning his head back forward.

"Did he just.."

"He did." Madison replied before Eren could finish his question. "What was that all about?" Armin asked, Madison shrugging and looking to the other Scouts.

"I don't know. Maybe it's the fact he knew my father. I'm no telepath." Madison stated, wiggling her fingers in front of Armin's face. "Hey! Cut that out!" He laughed, Eren joining in and wiggling his fingers as well.

"Seriously?!"
--

Madison had just supplied herself with a full tank of gas, checking it and examine it to make sure it was secure in place and was satisfied when she realized it was.

"Okay, today's the day, Dad..I get to join the Scouts today. I'm going to make you proud, Dad. I'm going to avenge you." Madison mumbled, placing her hand over her heart, feeling it thump against her chest.

"Don't do anything stupid." She heard, yelping a bit and turning quickly seeing Levi standing in the doorway of the supply room with his arms crossed over his chest. "Captain! Y-You heard everything I said?"

"Well, when you're talking out loud, someone will be bound to hear you." Levi replied, Madison scratching the back of her neck in embarrassment. "S-Sorry. I was...talking to my Dad. I usually do that when I'm nervous."

Madison sighed, tossing her jacket on and straightening out the sleeves which were crinkled up a bit.

"Well, just stick to what you learned in training and you'll be fine." Levi said bluntly, Madison nodding and began walking towards the door. "Captain..do you think my Dad would be proud of me? For becoming a soldier just like him?"

Levi perked his head up at this question, looking to the girl and seeing an uncertain look on her face. "Why would you ask that?"

"Because...I'm scared. Even though, I trained and trained for this moment and I made top 12, yet, I'm still afraid to face the Titans." Madison admitted, gripping her triggers in her hands.  And Levi believed the girl. He believed her when she admitted to being scared. He would be lying if he said he wasn't the slightest bit of afraid the first time he encountered Titans. But he learned to overcome it and he wanted the same for her.

"It's okay to be afraid, Madison." He assured, Madison looking to the man in surprise. "But, I thought being a soldier meant not being afraid."

"Yeah. That's what Moms say to get you to not join the military." Levi said, scoffing loudly. "But, it's alright to be scared. You just have to work your way through it. It will get easier after your first couple of kills."
