Madison followed the position she was assigned to, looking to her side and seeing that Levi was just beside her with Petra and Oruo at both his sides.

"Remember to stay in position, Madison. This could get ugly." Petra said to Madison, Madison nodding and looking down at her father's pendant. "I will. Good luck, guys! You too, Captain Levi! And Eren?!"

"Yeah?!"

"If it has to come to that, kick some Titan ass for me!" Madison replied with a smirk, Eren chuckling back.

"Hey, Madison! Don't do anything stupid while we're gone!" Levi called back, Madison scoffing softly, but she nodded anyway. "Yes, sir! Armin, let's go!"

Madison, Armin, and a couple of other scouts departed from the group, heading in the direction they needed to go. Madison looked back, watching Levi Squad, Eren, and the other Scouts ride off, her gut telling her that something was going to happen. Something just didn't settle right with her.

"Don't worry, Maddie..they'll be okay." Madison heard Armin say, though that didn't calm her down. She was worried about Eren. Worried about Levi. Worried about everyone on the Levi Squad. Something wasn't right and she knew it.

They travelled for another hour, no Titans in sight at the moment, but Madison looked around to be cautious.

"Cadet Snow! Protect the front with Cadet Arlet! The rest of you, protect the rear!" The Squad Leader of the group called out, everyone acknowledging and Madison soon moved from the rear to the front of the group, continuing to watch out for any Titans.

Madison's eyes wandered behind herself and the group. That's when she saw it. Something running towards them. Something fast. Her first initial thought was that it was the Armored Titan.

But as it got closer, she realized that this Titan was different. It indeed had blonde hair, but it had a feminine body. And it was running..really fast, straight towards their group.

"Sir! Abnormal in the rear!" Madison called out, the Squad Leader taking notice and looked back, spotting the Abnormal. "Shit! Cadet Snow, Cadet Arlet! Continue to protect the front! Do not break position!"

"Yes, sir!" Madison and Armin replied back, continuing to look forward, though both of their heart raced in fear. The thumping sounds of the Abnormal's footsteps got closer, louder, and it shook more of the ground under their feet, and all Madison could do was look back and see the Squad Leader and a couple other Scouts jump off their horses and went to attack the Titan.

"Something's wrong, Armin!" Madison exclaimed, looking back at her friend, seeing the same frightening expression on his face as hers held. "I know. We need to keep moving!"

A gut wrenching scream erupted from behind them and they both looked back, seeing that this Titan had killed the few Scouts that had tried to stop it, one of them the Titan was spinning them around, blood flying everywhere.

"Dear God..." Madison mumbled, the Titan looking directly at her and tossed the Scout in it's hand away. It then continued to run at them both, Madison whipping the reins on her horse to pick up pace.

"Snow! Arlet! Keep moving, we'll keep it busy!" One of the Scouts ordered, the remaining Scouts slowing down to attack the Titan. Madison wanted to scream for them not to go, but Armin tapped her arm. "We have to keep going, Maddie!"

Madison turned back, a helpless grunt falling from her lips when she turned back to look forward. She could hear the Scouts scream as they were killed, tears slowly rising to her eyes. She knew lives would be lost today, but this..this was different.

"Are we all that's left?" Armin asked, looking back and seeing that the Titan had just killed the last Scout fighting it, crushing his skull in it's fingers. "It looks like it..let's keep going. If I'm right, then Reiner and Jean should be with a squad about a couple miles from our position."

"Right. But that Titan came from the west. That was the same place the left vanguard was. Do you think it..?" Armin began, Madison shaking her head not sure what to think. But just as she looked back up, a foot came crashing down from above them both, causing Madison to be sent flying from off her horse, as was Armin.

Madison had hit the ground hard, her ears ringing loudly from the sudden impact and her vision went fuzzy. In an attempt to sit up, her eyes focused on Armin who had fallen nearby. Her heart dropped to her stomach as she looked up, seeing the Titan knelt down in front of Armin and it's slender fingers pulling his hood back to see his face.

"G-Get..away from him..you son of a bitch.." Madison mumbled out, climbing shakily to her feet. She unveiled one of her blades, ready to attack when the Titan had stood up, running off, leaving Madison and Armin both still with shock. Madison didn't move a muscle, watching the Titan disappear from her view.

"A-Armin..?" Madison called, fighting the state of paralysis overcoming her body and walked slowly over to Armin, seeing the shock and petrified look on his face, his arms and body shaking violently. "W-Why didn't it kill us?"

"I don't know..but we need to get moving. We have to warn the others about this Titan." Madison stated while helping Armin to his feet. "Shit...my horse ran away. We're going to need to share a horse."

"Y-Yeah..maybe Jean and Reiner will have a spare horse when we find them." Armin assured, Madison nodding and rubbing her arm, her face going completely red. She's never been that close to a boy before, so she felt a bit embarrassed. But Armin didn't seem to have a problem. He hopped on to his horse and held out his arm, helping Madison onto the horse.

"Hang on. We're going to be moving fast." Armin warned, Madison nodding and holding onto his waist tightly as his horse took off into the direction the Titan went.
---

"There they are!" Madison exclaimed, pointing out two horses riding just in front of them on their right. "Jean, Reiner!"

Jean was the first to hear the call of his and Reiner's name and looked back, seeing the two cadets behind them and signalled for Reiner to slow down their speed.

"Armin! Madison! What happened to your horse?!" Jean asked, riding alongside the two. "It ran away. It's probably too far now to hear my call."

"Don't worry. Whatever group we come across, hopefully, they'll have a spare horse." Reiner assured, Madison nodding to him. Madison gasped, seeing the Titan from earlier just ahead of them, running at a normal pace this time and looking around as if it was looking for something.

"Nice ass for a Titan, I'll give it that. But what do you think it's looking for?" Reiner asked, Madison rolling her eyes at the comment he made, but focused back on the question she herself was curious about. That Titan was headed for the position where Commander Erwin, Hange, and Levi's squad were specifically.

Her eyes had widened, her grip suddenly tightening on Armin's waist, the boy taking notice almost immediately.

"What is it, Maddie?"

"That Titan..it's heading for Eren.." Madison replied, Armin looking from her to the Titan, gulping nervously. "H-How can you be so sure?"

"What else is in that direction that it could be after? Plus, this is the middle guard, keep following this position and you'll make it to Commander Erwin's position. But this Titan doesn't know that Eren isn't over there."

"Right. The Commander placed Captain Levi's squad at the front left vanguard." Jean stated, overhearing Madison's statement. Madison looked to the Titan continuing to watch as it started to pick up pace.

"There's a squad over there! It's going straight for them!" Reiner exclaimed, pointing out a squad just a couple miles from them, the Titan gaining speed on them. "We have to help them.."

"But how? The Scouts in our squad couldn't stop it. And some were veterans!" Armin exclaimed, Madison grasping his arm. "I don't know. But we have to slow it down and let Eren get further ahead of us. That way it will be impossible for the Titan to find him."

"Okay. Let's do it!"
