No one talked for the longest time. They couldn't believe what they heard and saw. Having witnessed what kind of relationship Madison, Greta and their mother had, they felt pity for them.

Madison sat in the wagon staring blankly at the notebook in her hands, her mind still wandering off to her mother and why she hated her so much. It couldn't have just been that she left to join the Cadet Corps. There was more that wasn't being said.

"Here..you should eat." Madison heard, looking up from the journal in her hands and saw that Eren had entered the wagon and sat down while handing her a ration bar. "Thanks.."

"How are you holding up?" Eren asked, while Madison took the bar and stared down at it. "If I'm being honest, I'm actually not sure. I should be angry and hurt and wanting to rip my hair out my head, but..another part of me is trying to forgive my mom."

"Forgive her for what? For hurting you like that? She had no right!"

"I know. But, I...I don't know. I'm just all over the place, I guess." She replied in exhaustion, setting the journal aside and ripping open the bar in her hand. "So, anything helpful in the journal?"

"No..nothing except some weird talk. My mom kept writing about island devils. I don't know what that's suppose to be. Maybe some local legend or something?" Madison assumed, handing Eren the journal that had been marked on the page she stopped at.

"Could be. But I don't understand. Why did that one page mention Reiner?" Eren asked, Madison shaking her head. "I don't know. And it has me worried. Reiner is my friend and I don't know if my Mom would be the type of person to harm someone, but then again, I don't know what she's capable of."

"There's so many questions, yet the question is..does your Dad hold the answers?" Eren asked, the two looking towards the trunk in front of them. "We'll have to find out. Wanna help me out here?"

I knew it.

I knew she had his power. I should have realized it the day she had cut herself in her hand and she instantly healed.

I had to make her forget. I couldn't go on with her knowing she had his power. I just wanted to protect her. Her father was a monster. A monster that needed to be dealt with. Luckily, that Armored Titan did. Now my Madison can be safe. No one can hurt her. No one.

"Oh my god.." Madison mumbled while reading over the page she was on. Eren looked over at her, seeing tears flowing like a river out of her eyes and her hands shaking visibly to the point the journal nearly fell out of them. He had closed one of her Dad's journals and went over to her, the girl instantly covering her mouth as she sobbed.

She felt sick, sick to her stomach. She began to suddenly gag as she replayed the words in her mind.

Her own mother...

Her own mother wanted her father dead. She wished him dead and now he was.

"What's wrong?! Talk to me, Maddie!" Eren exclaimed, placing a hand on her back. She didn't say anything, she simply handed him the journal and looked shakily to the ground as Eren read the page to himself.

"She...she wrote this?"

"I-It's her h-handwriting..." Madison sobbed out, holding her mouth again as she gagged again. "I need...I need a moment.."

Madison got up from her spot, walking off a bit farther away from the group. She couldn't believe what she was read. She couldn't believe they came from her mother. She knew that her mother was terrified of her father because of his powers, but to be glad that he's dead...
