"Hyeju! You promised!" Heejin crossed her arms, frowning at her friend who sat at the lunch table, peacefully eating her lunch.

"Well I take it back. There's no way I'm doing anything in your stupid musical," Hyeju said firmly, focusing on her food.

"It's not a musical, there's no singing," Yerin pointed out.

"Not the point. The point is that you promised to volunteer for the prince if I couldn't get anyone else audition," Heejin nudged Hyeju.

"I didn't think I'd have to actually do it. I thought other people would want to be in your play," Hyeju shrugged.

"I thought they would too! People just suck," Heejin grumbled. "Come on, Hyeju, I'm counting on you,"

"No way," Hyeju repeated. "I am not putting on a stupid smelly costume and embarrassing myself in front of the entire student body,"

Heejin sighed. "Well, I tried. I guess I'll just have to tell Hyunjin we have to keep looking,"

"But haven't all of the other auditions sucked?" Yerim thought aloud.

"You both have a lot of confidence in me considering you've never seen me act," Hyeju pointed out.

"It's got to be better than the other girls in our year," Heejin said quietly. "They can't act to save their lives,"

"I don't know why you chose Rupunzel anyway, it's kind of a difficult play to get the girls to want to do if there's no boys," Yerim pointed out.

Heejin, Yerim and Hyeju had been best friends since junior high. The three were like a matching set, they were always together. This year, Heejin had decided to direct the play, and got handed a lot more work then she planned for. Hyeju felt a little bad for all the stress she was under, but she wasn't about to put herself under the scrutiny of the entire school by playing any part in the play.

Hyeju had always been known as the quiet, intimidating girl. That was what made the three friends so memorable, the way that they were so different but meshed so well together. Yerim was the happy go lucky friend, she reminded Hyeju of a golden retriever. Heejin was the responsible, smart one, which wasn't to say she was smart but she was the smartest out of the three of them. She had become better friends with a girl named Hyunjin throughout the semester, so the 4th girl was also becoming a part of their group. She was just plain weird, in Hyeju's opinion, but Heejin seemed to like her a lot so Hyeju wasn't about to say anything.

Hyunjin had stepped in and helped Heejin when things started to get too stressful in the play with auditions, so Hyeju liked Hyunjin fine. At least she was kind to Heejin, even though she kind of creeped Hyeju out. She would always see Hyunjin staring at Heejin like she was the only person in the world, and it didn't take a genius to figure out that Hyunjin had taken more than a casual liking to Heejin.

That was to say; Hyunjin had a huge crush on Heejin, which was very apparent to everyone but Heejin.

"What about me? Could I be in it?" Yerim suggested.

"You're already the stage manager, I don't think I can go through the process of teaching someone that stuff again," Heejin rested her head on her hands. "Thanks Yerimie, but I'll have to look elsewhere,"

"You agreed to be the stage manager?" Hyeju raised her head. "Am I the only one who's not helping?"

"Yes," Heejin narrowed her eyes at her younger friend.

"I could help backstage," Hyeju suggested.

"I doubt you'd want to," Yerim snorted. "We already have Yeojin-"
