IT has been two months since the lockdown has been implemented here in Caloocan. As much as I hate the lockdown, I can't even leave the house. Why? Because it's dangerous.
Staying inside the house may be boring, but keeping myself alive and away from the virus while I'm inside here is just fine as well. I only started living by myself 2 years ago.
That was the time when I was looking for a school to enroll into, my parents weren't against it, in fact they were happy for me that I decided to live on my own.
They were saying things like I've grown up and stuffs like that but I can tell that they are sad about me leaving, and when I was about to go home and visit them, the lockdown got implemented and no one could get out of their houses.
I have a car since I am 18 years old now, but I had to think carefully about the money I have to spend before spending it like it's nothing. Especially since gas is something to be wary of amidst this pandemic.
Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself. I am Aiden Rivera, currently studying in Wisdom University as a 12th Grader or what is normally called Senior High School.
You might be thinking why our school's name is Wisdom University, am I right? I'm sure you do, everyone does when they first see this.
To be perfectly honest with you, even I don't know why, ang pagkakaalam ko lang nagbibigay sila ng scholarship sa unang 100 Students 2 years ago.
At isa ako sa mga taong kinuha ang opportunity na yon that time, very wise choice indeed! Pero siyempre hindi lang yun ganon na basta basta lang ibibigay sayo yung scholarship, kailangan mo pa ding ipasa ang entrance examination nila.
And thankfully naipasa ko yung entrance examination na yon. Medyo mahirap siya pero ang importante naipasa ko yon.
At kaya ko din pinagigihan maipasa yon ay dahil kasama na din sa Scholarship na yun ang dorm na titirhan naming 100 students na nakapasa.
Yung dorm na yun mismo ay yung tinitirhan ko ngayon, pinayagan nila kami na magkaroon ng sasakyan nang maging 18 years old na kami.
At ayun ang dahilan kaya may sasakyan ako. Binili ko ang Subaru kong sasakyan dahil nagpadala ang mga magulang ko ng pera at sinabing bumili ako ng sasakyan para madali akong makapunta sa mga lugar lugar.
Ang tawag ng school officials sa Dorm naming yon corny man pakinggan (based on what my classmates says) pero atleast natutuwa sila na ganon ang tawag nila dito.
Binigyan nila iyon ng pangalang "Scholarly Dorm" dahil nga dorm yun ng mga scholar na pumasa noon. Nawala na lang biglaan ang masasayang mga kulitan noon, nang dumating ang pandemic.
