TW: slight mention of smoking towards the end

serena's pov:

As I turned to face the person who grabbed my wrist, I was astonished. Theo? But why was he acting so rash? Was this because I rejected him? I tried to retrieve my wrist, eager to get to class.

"Rena, you need to understand this," he pleaded, running his free hand through his hair. "You're going to that dance with me. I don't want you seen with some little prissy mommy's boy. I mean, come on, we've bonded better than you have with him!"

"Theo, with all due respect, this isn't fair. Why didn't you just ask me when we first spoke if you wanted to go with me?"

"Oh sweet Rena," he said, running his hand across my cheek. "The point is, if you don't go with me, I could really wreck you. Everyone thinks I'm Mr. Nice Guy in public, but when it's just you and me, I'll make it a living hell," he finished, letting go of my wrist.

Theo then walked off, leaving me standing in front of the staircases, speechless. I shuddered at the thought and hurried my way to Charms, already tardy as usual. Flitwick never bothered with giving me detentions anyway, knowing well that the professors and select students were aware of my father's influence.

I made my way to sit next to Pansy, giving her a quick side hug before pulling out our textbooks. As I searched my bag for my wand, I realized it wasn't there.

"Pansy, when you left our room, was my wand in there?" I asked, continuing to search my bag.

She shrugged. Unable to find it in my bag, I reluctantly made my way to the front of the class. As I bent down to check the desk, I heard whistles from behind me. Ignoring the concern about my skirt riding up, I was determined to locate my wand for this class.

"Professor, can I go look in the Great Hall and my dorm for my wand? Seems I don't have it on me," I said, adjusting my skirt to make it longer.

"Uh, of course! Make it quick, we have a very important lesson," he replied, writing with more chalk on the board, a rare sight for professors these days.

I left the classroom and made my way to the portrait that concealed the entrance to the common room. Whispering the password "pureblood," I descended into the room I shared with Pansy, still unable to find my wand. With a sigh, I headed towards the Great Hall in search of it.

The hall, once bustling with activity, now lay empty due to classes. Plates and silverware were cleared from the tables, leaving nothing in sight. I scanned the Slytherin table for my wand, but it was nowhere in sight.

I trudged my way back in front of the charms classroom, disappointment weighing heavy. As I neared the door, my gaze fell upon none other than Theodore Nott, leaning against the wall, twirling my wand with a cocky smile.

"Hey Rena, looking for this?" he quipped, tapping the wall with my wand as if it were a drumstick.

"Nott, I recommend you give that back before I lose my temper," I snapped, tone laced with fury.

"Or what, you're going to tell Snape or Dumbledore? Princess, if you'd just said yes to my offer, we wouldn't be in this mess," he said, stopping the twirl of my wand.

"Fine, just give me my wand back," I sighed, feeling defeated.

He handed my wand back, blew me a kiss, and we went our separate ways. I didn't want to be with Theo. I really wanted to be with Draco that night. He made me feel like I was somehow special. Theo, on the other hand, reminded me too much of my brother. Despite being quite handsome, I couldn't imagine kissing him or having those kinds of feelings for him, unfortunately. I thought about skipping class because Theo gave me the creeps, but reluctantly, I headed back into Charms, only to be scolded by Flitwick for wasting so much time.
