"What is that blue bag?" Avani asks as she puts fries in her mouth.

We're currently in a restaurant I say online that had good reviews.

"Just a little present that I got" I reply as I take a sip from my drink

Emma grabbed the little bag and looked inside

"Your favorite food and drinks," She says smirking

"who besides us knows that?" Larray asks

"Ohh- did Jaden made you a little lunch box for school?" Addison pouts.

I giggle and shake my head "Guys stop. No, I got it from Calvin"

everyone stopped laughing and looked serious at me

"Calvin got you a present?" Larray asks

"yeah, he remembers my birthday and got me somethings" I frown

"Okay, that's kinda sweet I think-"

"and creepy. How does he remember your birthday after such a long time?" Emma cuts Avani off

"I don't know. He said 'how could I not remember?'" I say sort of imitating Calvin.

"oehhhhhh" everyone said

"But whatever about Calvin, what did your boyfriend get you?" Avani asks

"Uh- he told me......" I was trying to make up something, but it took me too long that they noticed

Addison takes a sip from her drink and looks weird at me "wait does he even know it's your birthday today?" she questions

"What?!" Emma almost yells

"Okay calm down guys. He is just busy with work. It's fine" I smile

"So your ex-boyfriend didn't forget it but your boyfriend now does?" Avani asks

"I didn't tell Jaden in the first place. If I'm being honest I would have forgotten myself if it wasn't for you guys" I giggle

"But wait. Even do he is busy with work you still didn't tell him?" Larray asks

I shake my head "nope"

he sighs and looks down "well, even do I always thought Jaden was sus, I still think you should've told him"

"Guys it's not that special. It's just another day as normal" I explain

"But it can be something meaningful for him"

"yes, this is the day he can give you presents for your birthday. Don't boyfriends love that?" Emma explains

"Mine does" Addison giggles

"you have a boyfriend?"

everyone forgot about my topic about Jaden for a moment and we could just chill and eat food without being stressed about shit.

Emma leaned a little beat closer to me and moved away from their conversation about Addison. "I know that you don't like the whole birthday attention, but it's your boyfriend. when your going home tell him"

"I will, but is it even necessary? The day is almost over and tomorrow is a regular day again" I shrug my shoulders and play with my hands

"I know, but still. What are you gonna say in a year huh? 'Oh yeah it's my birthday, but I just decided not to tell you last year'?"

"Jaden?" I yell for him as soon as I get home.

He peeks his head out of his office and waves at me and fast puts his finger by his lips to make clear I need to be silent.

I just nod and walk to the kitchen

Okay, how are we going to do this?

'Jaden, I'm sorry I forgot to tell you but it's my birthday today

'Hey, Jae. Funny story! I forgot to tell you today that I'm officially 18 now'

Both don't sound the best, whatever I'll just get over with it.

When I hear him hang up the phone I walk over to his office and try to fast make something up in my head.

Come on Kiara. It isn't that hard. Just tell him. It's just your birthday.

"Hey babe" He smiles as he looks up from his computer

"Hi Jae" I respond

"How was the mall with your friends?" he asks

"Good, good.... Look I need to tell you something"

"That doesn't sound good" He frowns and closes off his computer

"Today it was actually-" but I got cut off by his phone.

He looks at it "shit"

"Do you really have to take that?" I ask a little bit annoyed

I look questioning at me. like he was suddenly surprised by my attitude. "Yeah, yeah. I have to take this. We'll talk later" He says falling back into his chair.

I sigh and walk out of his office.
