The one with a friend

On this first day of school, the children of his new class make a welcoming archway, linking their fingers to form a tunnel of smiles. Many of them hit on him, and even men. Although that did not matter as he never saw gender as an important thing when it comes to love. However, most of these kids only like him because he was soon to be King of Demons. His gut told him not to trust them as he walked off without uttering a single word. He was wondering what his first-class, science will be like. Zero, lost in his thought, didn't watch where he was going and bumped into a tall, dark-haired man. 

"Oya Oya Oya" the dark hair man said,

"Sorry, I Wasn't looking", Zero tsked 

"what's your name, silver chan? "Kuroo asked, amused to see the soon to be prince. 

"Zero...Zero Kiryuu" Usually, Zero would ignore him, but something told Zero that this man is worth trusting; maybe it was his cat-like eyes. Zero did love cats; hence couldn't help but let him introduce himself. 

"Kuroo Tetsuro, please to make you acquaintance," He said, as they both made their way to class only to sit together. It turns out Kuroo and had science, maths and English together. The day breezed by, and Kuroo and zero talked more about their life, turns out Kuroo was the volleyball captain. Zero offered to watch his game next weekend, which the cat-like captain purred too. Kuroo was, after all, a black cat demon, a very rare demon species Zero had read about in his other class. 

Zero thought that most of his classes were bearable. However, his behaviour classes would get on his nerve quite a lot. He would get hit with a book every time he swore, he was forced to smile, and if he yelled or raised his voice, he was forced to wash the demon dogs' teeth which stank like rotten eggs. Days went by, and Zero was supposedly looking forward to Kuroo's match. He wondered if he was allowed to tease his new friend if he lost. What he didn't anticipate, just how good Kuroo was.. 

The weekend rolled by, and Zero chose blue jeans and a white t-shirt to support his friend. Zero had to admit the cat demon indeed look great in his red sports uniform. Zero couldn't help but notice how good his thighs looked, but Zero pushed away  the vulgar thought and looked Kuroo gave the captain speech. Kuroo smiled when he noticed Zero as Zero smiled back, making the captain only wink back to tease the ex hunter. The game began with a great sever from the team across known as the Fukurōdani Academy, which had an owl demon serve easily retrieved by Kuroo, who smirked as the owl demon glared. The game was intense from start to finish, and Zero couldn't help but be overwhelmed by how good both teams were playing. The score dragged the game on to 5 sets, and Kuroo was finally showing some variability as the game took quite a toll on the cat demon. However, at the last moment lev, a man on Kuroo's team landed a spike which won them the game. 

The crowd cheered and gave both teams a standing ovation. Even Zero was smiling at the captain and clapping with joy. After the game, the captain and the demon prince both went to grab lunch.

"Kuroo, you awesome. Honestly, I didn't think you had it in you," Zero teased.

" Oh really, Zero, for that comment, you will pay for the meal", Kuroo teased. 

"sure", Zero replied as he smiled at the demon cat 

" You should come to more of my games", Kuroo mumbled 

"why is that" the silvered asked 

" why not " Kuroo questioned back

Zero just hmmed in response as they both enjoyed the lunch together. 

When they were walking back, zero asked Kuroo to stop by the palace. At first, Kuroo was hesitant but when Zero insisted and hence Kuroo and Zero were now about to enter the palace when Yami saw the two boys pass by. 

"oi brat, who is this Neko" Yami questioned? 

" Dad, this is kuroo, my friend from school, dad", Zero introduced. 

"Your highness" Kuroo bowed in front of the King. 

" oi stop that, let's go drink come," Yami said as he grabbed Kuroo by the shoulder and took him drinking. Within fifteen minutes, both men were half-drunk and were dancing about like idiots, both men. Zero couldn't help but smile a bit at the scene in front of him as both king and cat were now sleeping on each other due to exhaustion. 

After that, Kuroo came to visit a lot more. The time just flew by, and Zero got stronger and wiser each day. Just like that, in the blink of an eye, six months went by, and Zero got brighter and happier every day. He started smiling more and laughing occasionally. 

Until that faithful day when the hunter association requested zero, zero requested him to go back to the cross academy to oversee a certain pureblood king and his soon to be queen as they returned to the academy. At first, Yami disagreed, however when Zero told him that he cared and owed his legal guardian his life. Yami couldn't help but agree and let the boy go as long as he returned by 4 months. Kuroo too, was sad about his departure, but when Zero said that Kuroo could always visit him during the term break. Kuroo's eyes lit up and agreed.
