Tribe name: ChasmWings

Tribe status: semi-open (you cannot make one without my permission)

Physical description: ChasmWings have digitigrade legs, like SandWings or RainWings, with hooked claws to climb the rocks and trees, and small talons for fast movement on the ground. They have oval-shaped eyes and long, elegant snouts with rounded edges. They have smooth scales that are circle-shaped like a RainWing and long, flexible tails.

They most commonly have two wings that resemble pterodactyl wings, and toward the end of the wing, split into shapes like dragonfly wings (like mountain Banshees from Avatar). They can have two wings, no wings, four wings, and in extremely rare (1 in 100,000,000) cases include a dragon having six wings. The only six-winged ChasmWings alive today are Queen Ivy and one of her daughters, Princess Amaryllis.

They also have a covering over their wings (called elytra) to protect them when they are folded that is made of the same material that makes up dragonscale, just much smoother.

They have slitted pupils for seeing in the dark.

They have a SeaWing-like frill down their spine with spines in between the

They have fins with spines between them on their tails (like a Night Fury). They also have extra fins on the base of their tail to keep the dragon from twisting around in the air while flying, which is the texture of their frills and tail fins that can fold and stretch out on command. They also have ruffs behind their ears.

ChasmWings have red blood and forked or unforked pink tongues.

ChasmWings will always have patterns on their scales, like flecks or freckles, stripes, spirals, and polka-dots, or they will have horizontal stripes down their bodies. Having no patterns at all is impossible.

They have long, straight horns like NightWings.

Coloring: ChasmWings can have scales of either gray, dark washed out green or yellow, or a mix of those.

Abilities: ChasmWings can breathe fire, but their fire also contains a sticky, adhesive goo, which ignites when exposed to air. The terrible smelling jelly burns extremely hot, causing severe burns. They can scale almost 90-degree surfaces with their special talons and hooked claws, and they can also hover in the air for a long time. They are also able to blend in with their surroundings with their dull scales.

Queen: Queen Ivy

Naming System: ChasmWings can be named after numerous species of plants, fruits, and vegetables. They may also be named after mountain formations and flower species.

Diet: Most ChasmWings are omnivores.

Continent: Pyrrhia, though the dragons have no idea if the ChasmWings exist.

Habitat: The ChasmWings live, as their name suggests, in deep chasms and trenches near the Sky Kingdom.

Fighting Skills: Most ChasmWings are not trained to fight, as they have no reason to.

Swimming Skills: The ChasmWings are not very good at swimming, so about a 2/10 for this one.

Flying Skills: ChasmWings are very good at flying, and can do so for hours on end.

Intelligence: ChasmWings are not ignorant, nor have an extremely high intelligence level.

Personality Traits: ChasmWings are usually gentle and are not willing to fight very much. Due to their primarily vegetarian diet, they leave wildlife alone.

Hybrids: ChasmWings have had almost no interaction with any of the other tribes, but occasionally, a couple of ChasmWings have had massive wings, peculiar bright red scales, and the ability to somehow breathe fire.

Animus Dragons: The ChasmWings do have animus dragons. But, animus dragons in this tribe are twice as rare and they are only in the royal family. There has never been a recorded commoner ChasmWing animus, and the ChasmWings make sure of it.

Lore:

Long, long ago, there once was a six-winged ChasmWing god named Kind that had a brother named Corrupt. He and his brother would fight for days and days, but these weren't just any sibling rivalries, they were dangerous and deadly.

They brought their arguments to the mortal world, and they destroyed countless civilizations and killed many. But one day, Kind had an idea. What if he could somehow get rid of his evil brother?

He used his magical powers to split the earth and he brought his followers to an indestructible cave and hid them there. He enchanted a pool of water that would kill any impure soul and tricked his brother and his followers to make a village around this pool. One day, Corrupt was very, very thirsty.

He walked over to the shining blue pool and took a small sip. He coughed and coughed and his throat grew drier than it ever had. He kept drinking to get rid of this terrible feeling and soon grew very sick. Corrupt wondered what was going on and ordered his medics to help him. The medics forced him to drink more water, and that same day, Corrupt died.

The rest of his followers came to Kind and asked him to give them a home, and Kind lead them to the pool that he had enchanted, and after many days, Corrupt's followers also grew thirsty, and the same thing happened. The impure souls died.

Now, Kind's descendants live in the indestructible chasm that he made exactly 3,000 years ago. The ChasmWings celebrate the day of every impure dragon's death each year. There are never exceptions. Never. They call this day "The Purity Day" because the ChasmWing tribe has no more impure souls. And the impure souls they do find? Well, to Kind's pool they go.
