George woke up startled. Where am I!? He sat up quickly looking around, panicked. He didn't see anyone. Had they left me? He started yelling "HELLO! ARE YOU THERE!? PLEASE! DREAM! SAPNAP! SOMEONE!"
Sapnap ran inside "Are you okay!?" he yelled. He was out of breath from running back to the cave when he heard George yell.
Oh no...I made Sapnap mad... "S..sorry..." George said worried.
"Are you okay, did something get in here!?" Sapnap replied concerned.
"N...no" George stuttered.
"What happened?" Sapnap asked his tone softening.
"I...I was worried..." George paused "Dream?" George said as Dream walked in relieved he was here.
"Is...He...okay." Dream panted, out of breath.
"I think so" Sapnap said over his shoulder to Dream.
"Yeah...It's just...I thought you left." George whispered, looking down.
"We didn't leave, we just went to get food." Dream said, still half out of breath.
"We wouldn't leave you behind." Sapnap added.
George looked up at Sapnap and smiled a little bit.
Sapnap smiled back.
"Well i'm going to make some food then we need to leave." Dream called from behind Sapnap. He turned around to go outside and cook food.
"Do you need us to do anything?" Sapnap asked.
"Just come outside to make sure nothing sneaks up on me."
"Okay" George and Sapnap replied at the same time.
Dream stood cooking in a beaten up pot over a fire. Sapnap and George sat on a log. Sapnap watched Behind them making sure nothing came up behind them. George sat there watching Dream cook letting his mind wander.
I wonder what he's making, the Squirrel was best so far but the turkey filled him up more. He watched Dream moving his hand trying to cook slivers of turkey evenly. He watched him pick up pieces and put them in baggies. He watched him get out a few more pieces and put them in the pot. He saw how his clothes complemented his body. How his slightly curly hair sat on his head. He stopped himself and looked away and at the ground. He can't like Dream, Dream was with Sapnap. He looked over at Sapnap feeling upset with himself. Sapnap had just started being nice and now he's gonna mess it all up. He looked at the way Sapnap sat there watching, making sure they were safe. He put his head in his lap, he hated this he liked them both and he couldn't have either.
"Hey, you okay?" Sapnap asked, turning around and putting a hand on George's back to comfort him.
George wanted to cry, to run away from this all. "Yeah, I'm just tired."
Dream had now turned around to make sure George was okay.
"You don't look just tired..." Sapnap replied.
"I mean I don't know what else to say..."
Dream sat down the pot and walked over to George, sitting down. " don't look okay" He said softly.
George didn't reply, too scared to say anything. He was holding back tears.
"If it's all the things I've said i'm sorry..." Sapnap said to George as he gave him a half hug still on the log.
AHHH I HATE IT HERE George thought to himself.
"George listen we're gonna get out of here...it might take some time but soon we'll get out." Dream said, still trying to calm George down.
He didn't care, he didn't care if he got killed he just couldn't stay there he wanted to run...he ran. He could hardly hear Dream.
"Sapnap stay here in case he comes back." Dream insisted. "GEORGE! IT'S NOT SAFE!"
He didn't care, he just wanted to get away. He wanted to vanish. He could hear Dream running after him still calling for him.
"GEORGE PLEASE!" Dream pleaded running after George.
George kept running until he couldn't anymore. He dove behind a tree as quickly and quietly as he could. He put his hand over his mouth to muffle his breathing.
Dream stopped when he wasn't able to hear George. "George, listen, you have to come back. it's not safe."
George kept still a few silent tears fell down his face.
Dream knew he was near; there were no more crunching leaves under running feet. "George I know you're around here."
George sat there knowing when the sun went down Dream would give up. Even though it was early he was ready to wait.
Dream looked back where he had come from and then back in front of him. "Shit, I'm not gonna find him on my own. I can't leave or else he may run more and I'll lose him in the woods. I don't want to yell for Sapnap, something might hear." he whispered. He kept walking around looking.
George quietly moved around the large tree as Dream changed where he was standing. As he reached one side of the tree he saw an opening behind vines to the hollow trunk. Without thinking he went inside, it was incredibly cramped but it worked. He sat there quietly covering his mouth.
"George please, I just want to help." Dream called from somewhere outside.
George still had tears going down his face making sure to keep them silent. He sat there letting his mind wander but still keeping a hand over his mouth. This is stupid, he thought to himself. He was literally running from his problems. He hated the idea of going back. Dream would have to give up when it got dark, right? All he had to do was wait until it was da...
George was snapped out of his thoughts when he felt something brush against his ankle. He looked down to see what touched his ankle. "SPIDERRRRRRRRRRRR" George screamed as he ran out of the tree. The sun was setting, he couldn't hear Dream anymore. "He must have gone back." George whispered to himself. He heard rustling in the woods, he realized how stupid of a mistake he made. He heard what sounded like heavy footsteps. He looked around frantically, he saw one of the orc like creatures. He knew they moved slower then what he could if he ran. He just had to hope he could find somewhere to hide before he ran out of breath. He started running, he heard it pick up pace. Then he heard rusting to his left. He looked to his left and saw nothing, he realized it was probably one of those night scouts. He ran harder he knew if he slowed down at all it would catch him. He kept running as fast as he could. "Fuck" he said as he heard the orc start to smash trees in order to catch him. He heard a growl to his right behind him. He glanced to see what had just growled, it was a huge wolf. The wolf's eyes had a look of madness to them. He figured he had no chance at out running but it was the only option he had if he wanted a chance. Even if it was a horrible choice to run from the wolf and present himself as prey he had no choice.
He wove around trees hearing bashing from the orc, disturbing rustling from the night scout and growls from the wolf. He heard the wolf pounce at him hardly weaving out of its way. If he could just find the cave they could help. He looked for a split second and saw the wolf, it wasn't pouncing at him it was pouncing at the scout. It's bright red eyes locked onto a pitch black creature. The scout hissed, George could hear it running trying to get away on its hands and feet. The orc was still after him, smashing trees in half. He ran as fast as he could, the wolf staying with him, watching to make sure he was safe.
George started to feel tired but he didn't dare stop to catch his breath. He could still hear the smashing of trees, the crunching of leaves to his sides. The wolf ran ahead of him, stopping for him to get on. George ran to it jumping on, the wolf running to somewhere. It took him to a cave, not the one he was looking for but he was still grateful. He got off the wolf sitting down in the back of the cave while it watched guard. It was cold, he started shivering. The wolf looked back at him, it stood up and walked over to him. It curled up next to him, keeping him from getting cold. All of a sudden a second wolf walked in. The first raised its head only to lower it again, not worried. The new wolf came in and laid down next to him and the first. Keeping close to help George stay warm as well but staying awake. George laid his head down, snuggling into the first wolf.
