It was six am and neither of us wanted to go back to sleep so we packed. We folded and refolded. We changed the bed linen which was soaked in my sweat.
"Your not going to ask me what that was about?" I asked Persephone and she shook her head.
"I already know." My eyes met her gaze and lingered there a moment until she lowered hers back to my trunk
"Well, it's almost 8 am which means breakfast room service is almost open." She smiled and so did I, we enjoyed ordering room service. After a few minuets there was a knock at the door. The tray came in and the Waiter left, Persephone emerged from my bathroom, towel wrapped gravity defiantly around her head and still looking beautiful.
"Oh, look! A fruit bowl-" she began but then we both saw the monstrosity that sat atop the pile of photographic fruit. A Pomegranate.
"What shall we do?" She asked me, her eyes never leaving the fruit. I inhaled and held it
"I'll do it!"I braved it. She sighed with shock
"Are you sure? But after-" her voice became rushed and astounded
"Yes. I'll get rid of the vermin!" I looked at her and nodded before walking over to the tray, closing my eyes and grabbing the Pomegranate and with one swift movement dropping it into the bin and tying the bag shut.
"Oh, well done! How very well done! My little hero!" Persephone clapped and hugged me, I breathed again.
"Never make me touch one of those again!" I exclaimed and she laughed
"Never!" We locked our pinky fingers and looked into each other's eyes. A promise was a promise!

We called the car to take us to the train station. Once all my belonging had been hauled into the boot by the hotel staff, we were on our way in the shiny black car that father had sorted for us. It was no different from the car Jules-Albert used to drive me around in, in fact when it pulled up in front of the lobby I almost expected to see the old bag of bones to be sitting in the front. He wasn't, and with his absence came another pang of homesickness. The journey to the station was not a long one, but it was extended considerably by the traffic that occupied London at this hour in the morning
"Sorry 'bout dis ma'am. 'Ts not usually dis bad." The driver admitted, his accent making it hard to understand. Clearly a Londoner. After a long car journey our chauffeur took my bags into the station behind Persephone and myself
"Now, Nico. Your father wanted me to give you this, don't read it until you are at school, he made that instruction very clear." She handed me a long grey envelope. We where walking to my platform, veering round the florists stand after Persephone had wept ("we mustn't go to close, I'll make all the flowers wilt" she sighed "part of my curse") the train had already pulled up and parents were milling around, making sure their children had all their belongings, hugging and kissing them goodbye as they boarded the train. The chauffeur went ahead and loaded my cases into the luggage carriage as I hugged Persephone and as she kissed my cheek
"Be a good boy, Nico. And please do not get in too much trouble!" She smiled mockingly.
"I won't, I promise!" I laughed and she smiled weakly
"Now, I know you don't really need them, but there's a large bag of drachmas in your trunk-"
"You shouldn't have-" I interrupted her but she waved me off
"No, I just find it more reliable than all this technology stuff you use. So if you ever need a word with me or your father please use Iris! Okay?" She kissed me again, "you better get on, if you're to fine a good spot!" I touched my cheek to hers as she rubbed my arm
"It's going to be okay!" She whispered, trying to convince herself as much as she was me.
"Thank you P, for everything!" She smiled and wiped away a tear
"Yes, well it's the least I could do..."
I stepped onto the train and made my way down to an empty compartment. I waved to her and she dabbed her eyes. She waited until the train has disappeared from view before she left.

The journey was long and boring, despite the new and unfamiliar scenery I felt my ADHD kicking in and I just couldn't sit in that empty compartment any longer. I made my way down to the cafe and bought a espresso. In the queue to collect my coffee order, I suddenly felt a cold, sharp blade pulsing against my throat. By the smell I could tell it was just an over privileged guy trying to mess with the new kid. So I laughed, then I stepped back and stomped hard on my 'attacker's' foot. He yelled, letting go of the blade, and I turned and punched his chest which sent him to the floor, I straddled his torso, knees either side of his waist and held my forearm under his chin. The silence in the cafe cabin was deafening. I reached back, grabbed the blade which turned out to be nothing but a pair of scissors. After flipping them the right way with the handle pointing my opponent
"You dropped your scissors!" I smiles sarcastically, and got up holding my hand out to help him up. He took it, dusted his blazer off and smiled.
"Good to see there's people here not frightened by weapons!" The rest of his poesy laughed
"Its not much of a weapon." I countered, collection my coffee and turning back to the crowd of boys
"I guess not, but it's the closest to a knife I could get." I was about to leave the carriage when he thrust his left hand towards me. I shook it awkwardly with my own left hand
"It's most commonly done with the right hand" I explained, sarcastically
"Geoffrey Parker. Nico di Angelo I'm guessing, from the United States." I nodded
"It's a pleasure!" I smirked finally letting go of his hand
"The pleasure, Mr. di Angelo, is all mine!" Geoffrey's hand was still clutching mine, he seemed to be looking into my eyes for far to long to be considered socially acceptable
"I'm sure our paths will cross again!" He called down the hall as I departed
"I look forward to it!" I lied.
