"And I sense an unwanted pest." Ivy snapped, annoyed by the fact that Selina had just interrupted something Ivy was dreaming about for months. If the woman wasn't around she and Harley would've probably be making out at this point.
"Ouch," Selina put on a mocking, hurtful tone as she stepped closer. The woman wore a long, dark winter coat that hugged her sides, along with matching fluffy boots and tights. Her hands were buried deep in the warmth of her pockets, the tip of her nose a light pink from the frosty air. The raven-haired woman stood in front of the other two, who were still tangled in each other's limbs on the snowy ground. A bird fluttered ahead, breaking the silence and Selina continued, "someone's in an awful mood."
Ivy helped Harley stand up and like a caring mother to a child, she held the blonde close as she brushed down the snow from her clothing.
"Kittyyyyy!" Harley then ran excitedly to Selina, throwing her arms around her in an embrace.
"Harley," The woman greeted back with a warm, genuine smile, "I see your thigh healed up nicely." She gestured towards the woman's leg as last time she had a nasty, deep gash and couldn't even walk straight on her own.
Harley pulled back from the hug and flashed her a bright, toothy grin, "Yeah! Red's really good at what she's doin'!"
The tips of Ivy's lips twitched upwards in a small smirk, but she didn't say anything.
Selina nodded and then returned her hands back in her warm pockets. Her cat-like eyes studied the two, noticing how Harley was probably overdressed for her own good. Ivy could be a little too caring at times, but that never seemed to bother the blonde. What she also noticed was the death threatening glares Ivy kept shooting her way, although Selina found it amusing.
For a while she suspected Ivy's feelings towards the blonde. Sometimes on special occasions they would meet each other at the Iceberg Lounge and gossip about this or that. If Selina played her cards right, she would have Ivy spill her frustrations out to her about Harley constantly going back to the Joker only to be beaten and humiliated by him again. By all means, Selina kept it all a secret, even away from Bruce. It was a fun game, watching the two women interact with each other, trying so hard to convince one another that they were just "friends."
"So, what brings a stray little kitten into my garden?" Ivy crossed her arms, Harley bending down and scooping up snow in her hands, shaping the snow into a ball.
Selina replied coolly, "Is it so hard to believe that I came here to check up on you two, Ivy?" When Ivy's eyebrow twitched upwards, urging her on, so Selina continued, "I mean, that night Harley genuinely looked like she got ran over by a truck!"
"Hey! I'm still here ya' know!?" Harley sounded offended and threw a badly shaped snowball at Selina, but due to her quick cat reflexes, she dodged it easily.
Ivy didn't even bat an eye, "You need a favour." She guessed correctly.
The raven haired woman met Ivy's hard stare, not intimidated by her harsh, cold tone either. "Yes." She replied smoothly.
The green-skinned woman smiled in self-satisfaction. "Of course you do. And what makes you think I'll aid in what ever you're planning?" She challenged, lifting her chin.
Selina kicked some snow around with the tip of her boot, "You owe me."
"How so?" Ivy scoffed.
Her eyes flickered downwards towards Harley, who was busying herself by shaping more snowballs and stacking them on top of eachother like a pyramid.
Catching her eye, the redhead's eyes narrowed. "You are such a—"
Selina quickly cut her off, "I can assure you that if you take part, you won't be disappointed."
The green woman slowly approached her, her eyes sharp and observing before she suddenly spoke up, "Don't even think about it." Her warning tone alerted Selina and her eyes flickered down to where she tried to slip off the expensive ring off Ivy's, long, slim finger.
With a chuckle, Selina turned around and shrugged, "can't blame a girl for trying... You'll miss out on a lot, though... Expensive jewels all to myself... Diamonds, emeralds... Exotic plants..." .
Suddenly Harley stood up so fast she almost fell over again, "Watcha say!? Jewels?"
Stopping, Selina looked over her shoulder, a smirk painted on her slim face. "Interested?"
Harley grinned and before she could reply, Ivy butted in, "Why do you need our help, Selina? As far as I remember, you're a lone kitten." The woman was definitely feeling prickly today, probably because she interrupted their kiss.
Selina had to hold back a laugh, "New shipments will be arriving in the Gotham museum tonight, that means extra security will be littered all over the place. I need you to help me get to the higher ground and sneak from the roof top. After that, you can go back to..." She tried to find the right words to say as she studied the two, "... Being gay I suppose." She shrugged.
While Harley was grinning like an idiot, Ivy was raging on the inside. "I am not gay! I hate humanity! I despise everyone, men and women. Humans do nothing else good except ruin and torture this beautiful world. What makes you think I am attracted to anyone!?"
Selina and Harley both tried to hold back their laughs, "You seem to be taking a liking in Harley. I'm sorry, is she not a human to you?" Selina teased with a chuckle.
Ivy faltered, "I..."
Harley went to hug Ivy again, pressing her cheek against her green one, "'Tis okay, red! Imma support ya no matta what!" She heard Selina laugh again and grinned wider.
Ivy's eyes narrowed and she unattached Harley's arms off of her, "I have zero attraction towards men or women." She sounded exhausted at this point.
Suddenly the blondes blue eyes widened, "waitaminute red... Are ya sayin' yer... plantsexual...?"
The raven-haired woman suddenly burst out laughing she almost toppled over.
At this point, Ivy just gave up trying. She thought about being attracted to plants and visibly cringed. Disgusting. Plants were her babies, her children. Just because she preffered the company of plants over humans didn't mean that she was sexually or romantically attracted to them. The very thought alone made her want to throw up.
She also believed that no matter how many times she would try to convince the two that she wasn't attracted to anyone, they won't believe her lies because in the end, one day, the truth will come out. She knew that when the right time comes, Ivy is going to tell Harley that she loves her with all her heart.
Clearing her throat, Selina cocked a well-manicured brow at them, "So what's it gonna be, ladies?"
"We'll go with you, but after you got what you wanted, I don't want you showing up on my property unannounced ever again." Ivy's voice was as cold as stone.
That didn't seem to bother Selina the slightest, "It's a deal, then."
