(n.) a place from which one's strength is drawn, where one feels at home; the place where you are your most authentic self.

We were walking all alone,

Right on top of the picturesque snow,

Of a treacherous slope on the mountain,

Sat a dilapidated and rustic cabin.

With laminated pictures of the past,

Where we tried to make it last,

Since if these stowed-away memories were forgotten,

How could it live on if not from us children?

It was dawn when I learned the A B C's

And your name was the first word I thought to speak,

Then onto the numbers I counted to infinity,

But I'd remember your favorite number which was three.

When winter had finally withered from the sun,

I wanted to hear your chuckle with all my puns,

Even brought our own legos,

From the world that made us incognito.

When we rolled off the summer green grass,

With the perfect magic we tried to make last,

You were my best friend through it all,

As I will always be your firewall.

And now that summer has wandered away,

From when we were left astray,

If you would never need a friend,

I'm still here in the cabin even from then.
